You might have to have that album on repeat for a week until the lyrics make any sense. You're allowed to engage with it and can keep engaging with it until it means something to you. People will see a painting at a museum and laugh about not getting what the big deal is but like you can come back, you can see it at another time, and maybe that next time it'll be different for you. I'm of the belief the "media literacy crisis" would solve itself if more people just sat down and did it again. Not telling your kid they have a learning disability, chronic illness, mental illness etc. so they can “feel normal” actually does the opposite. They will not feel normal if they do not have the context to understand that their normal will be different from that of their peers.

It was late, and the hospital was 4 kilometers away from me, so I carried my son and went on foot, and the warplanes were bombing the Nuseirat camp, as the direction to the hospital was from the same road.

I want to ask you: How do you feel when you are afraid for your son, and you are walking a long road, amid heavy bombardment?

Can't believe I'm saying this but the weather is slowly changing in Gaza again and it rained quite heavily this week. Knowing this while literally 90% of Gaza's population has been displaced, many living in makeshift tents, is a terrifying thought. Since last week's rain, many people are left without a place to stay and their belongings destroyed by the rain.

The cost of tents is between $700 and $800 which is beyond practically everyone in Gaza right now. However, the Sameer Project are crowdfunding and providing these families with tents. You can help out by either donating and/or sharing their initiative with your friends and community members.
