A Call for Help Amidst the Devastation in Gaza
My name is Hanan Al-Salout, a Palestinian mother and children's counselor. I write to you today with a heart heavy with indescribable pain and sorrow, due to the loss and destruction my family has faced as a result of the war.ππ’
The relentless violence has taken everything from us our home, our livelihoods, and even the sense of safety we once had. I lost my job, and my husband He lost his job too is fighting with all his strength to keep our family standing amid unbearable suffering. ππ
But the greatest pain is seeing my little child, Yaseen, who is not even two years old, live in constant fear. Every day he wakes up to the horrors of war, sheltered by a torn tent that no longer protects us from the cold or the wind. π
My elderly mother-in-law is also suffering, as the catastrophic conditions of the war exceed her weak body's ability to endure, causing her to suffer from anemia and severe weakness, leaving her in a pitiable state! π’π
Winter storms have destroyed the last bit of shelter we had, leaving us exposed to the harsh elements. We have sold everything we own,
Now all we have left are our prayers and hope that your compassionate hearts will hear our plea.
This war has turned into an extermination of innocent families, children, and dreams. We live each day in fear of becoming another number in the growing list of casualties. π’
We plead with you to look upon us with mercy. Your support could be the difference between life and death for my family. ππ€

The first Palestinian athlete to participate in the Olympic games died on Wednesday at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza as a result of kidney failure due to power outages and medical shortages as a result of the ongoing Israeli war and siege of the enclave.
Majed Abu Maraheel, who passed away at the age of 61, became the first athlete to be the flag bearer and represent Palestinians at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Being a distance runner, he competed in the 10km race.
Since his breakthrough on the world stage, more than 20 Palestinian men and women have been able to compete at Olympic competitions.
"He was a Palestinian icon, and he will remain as such," his brother told Paltoday TV after the funeral.
"We tried to evacuate him to Egypt but then the Rafah crossing was closed (by Israel), and his condition kept deteriorating."
In his preparation for the Olympics, Abu Maraheel would often be seen on his daily runs from his home in Gaza to the Erez Crossing with Israel, which Israel closed in October after imposing a full blockade on the Strip.
Last month, it was reopened for the first time since then.
He would often have to pass through that crossing for his job as a day labourer in Israel. After participating in the Olympics, Abu Maraheel went on to become a coach for other Palestinian runners hoping to replicate his presence at the international competition.
Abu Maraheel's death highlights the grim fate of many Palestinians who are facing kidney failure in Gaza.
A report from the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor in March found that there were between 1,000 to 1,500 patients in Gaza with kidney failure, and that they are facing a "slow death" because of "a lack of medical and therapeutic services, medications and other necessities".
Israel denies blocking humanitarian aid into Gaza, though aid agencies say they are not able to get aid in because of Israeli restrictions.
it really scares me when girls on here are married. theyβll be like my husband and iβm like ? thatβs not funny... stop it...
In this video, you witness the heartbreaking reality we are facing in southern Gaza, where famine has reached its most devastating point. My children have no bread to eat; their only meal is the rice we receive from the charity kitchen. If that stops, my children will go hungry, and as a father, that is the most unbearable pain I can imagine. I donβt ask for anything for myself
I only wish to feed my starving children. Please, we need your support more than ever to survive this nightmare.

Today marks the 76th anniversary of the Nakba, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians to make way for Israel in 1948.
Over 750,000 Palestinians were displaced that day. This did not start on October 7th.
Know their history, fight for their future. π

if the condition of the children of gaza doesn't move you, i don't know what will. there is no school this year. there was no school last year either. no clean water or healthy food. no medicines for when they hurt themselves. no toys to play with. no way for them to come out of this genocide unscathed. it's with a heavy heart that i've realized that childhood in gaza is an empty promise.
my friend alaa [ @alaakh998 ] lives in gaza. she has two little kids aged 4 and 6. i cannot help but think about them. how are they doing? what lies in their future? are they okay? I've come to the realization that they wont be safe unless they're able to evacuate from gaza.
the rafah crossing is closed as of now. alaa is fundraising in hopes that she can collect enough money to address her immediate needs and eventually evacuate when the crossing opens. she needs to buy a tent and medicine and supplies and food.
please donate to help her buy these things and ensure her children's well being.
