i genuinely believe that eventually bojack ended up reading books instead of watching tv or scrolling social networks (he is not very interested in it but he needs to spend pastime somehow....). and mr peanutbutter is almost always there to keep him company so... bojack reads to him and pb sometimes makes comments but most of the time he just listens and. in the end falls asleep (if someone with bojack's voice read to me i would fall asleep too). but bojack doesn't mind. he is also kinda used to discuss books with pb afterwards. and even sometimes chooses the ones he thinks pb might like (true love)
oooo oooo o owow ohoh happy birthday freak @fandomfreakstudios!!!
im not very eloquent and i also don't know how to congratulate people properly, but i hope you have a great day! you are a wonderful person and i love you and you deserve all the best! everything is gonna be fine! (imagine you wake up in the morning and see your son bringing you a birthday cake that he made himself)
let's take a break *ugly sobbing* from angst and look at them *wiping tears* being happy
smth i thought about while drawing it: rarely when bojack is alone at home and feels kinda sad he comes to mr peanutbutter on the set. and he 100% takes with him some delicious cookies that he baked in advance. pb is overjoyed because of his unexpected visit every time and can't help but cling to him and not let him go for the next half hour (the rest of the crew is very displeased about it)
and you can't convince me that bojack doesn't like pda. i have PROOF:
Why do you ship BoButter — not hating! I just haven’t seen it as much!
hi! that's alright, i will try to explain my position
how should i put this... i like them as a couple more not because they had a lot of interactions throughout the show, but rather because of their potential. they are my favorite characters - they're both incredibly well-written - and i also like them individually, independently of each other, and how they could grow up being in a relationship is a very interesting topic to me
so here's the reason: they work well together. why? i'm planning to make a post about this one day, so for now i'll try to be brief:
- on a superficial level they differ, but if you look deeper, you realize that they are very similar (both had acting careers, similar coping mechanisms, same age and gender). they would understand one another well, without being completely identical to each other and thus living in a kind of echo chamber (as in the case of todd and pb f. e.)
- at the same time their differences are not as critical as diane and pb had, and if they really tried to understand their partner, they would truly complement, not suppress each other
that's why by the way their relationship is possible only after the end of the series (aus don't count), where both characters have gone through a long path of growth and, finally, are ready to build healthy friendship, which after a while could turn into something more
for instance: bojack would become more independent with mr peanutbutter, as he would have to solve his problems himself because pb, due to his forgetfulness and carelessness, simply would not be able to do it for him, as princess carolyn did; mr peanutbutter, in turn, would not have to suppress the desire to make big gifts since bojack just would not mind this. he also wouldn't finally have a partner who was much younger than him. and so on
- and. imho bojack wouldn't simply be able to build healthy equal relationships with women because of his mommy issues lol. he's too old to completely rebuild his mindset, and well... i can imagine post-canon!bojack being actually happy and not self-destructive only in a relationship with a man or being single at all. but that's just me
and yes, they certainly wouldn't fix each other. i rather see it this way: they go through their personal growth, supporting each other and becoming good friends. in turn, a strong closeness and a huge common history, as well as the growing sympathy in general, contributes to the emergence of romantic feelings and one of them ends up confessing to the other, and that's where they start dating.
i also get that they could just remain friends as well, and that would also be great, but being romantic partners, in my opinion, would further expand their potential and gain personal growth as characters. they have every chance of becoming great partners for each other for the rest of their lives (which is not very long)
so yeah, i myself can't say that there were many interactions between them in the show, but i rather like their potential and the dynamics of their relationship. i hope i answered your question anon!
Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never, never want to go home
Because I haven't got one anymore

One of my doubts I have about the AU where Bobutter are parents would be the reaction of all the other characters in relation to their relationship and children. I think they would have a very secret and discreet relationship, maybe even the wedding would be something simple, maybe it would just be them and the priest. I don't know if I would put on a party where Bojack would invite his old friends...because they arent really friends anymore? Maybe PB would want to invite his family to his wedding with BJ, but since BJ would like something more discreet it would be just them. And somehow, that made everything even more intimate? So the discovery of their relationship would be huge Hollywood gossip. News like "Are Bojack Horseman/PB gay?"; "Take the horse out of the closet"; "Maybe that was why he never worked out with his 3 ex wives/That explains the cancellation of Horses Around"; Imagining the public's reaction is easier. Maybe Todd would try to talk to both of them? Would Princess Caroline make a call? Diane? This would bring great stress to both of them. To Bojack for the public comments, and PB for seeing him so eager. It would take time for the gossip to pass. So hiding your children from the public would be a sensible but difficult option. They would be those celebrities who would go out completely disguised. Everything would be revealed with another gossip, of course. A photo taken by Paparazzi. The one who suffered the most from the situation at the beginning would be Bj, as people would talk about his past with Sarah Lynn and what a bad father he would be.
This would certainly cause problems for Crackerjack in the future. He may even have PB's last name, but it's not like he never in his life couldn't find out about BJ's past, or even if someone with bad intentions(being a adult or child) found out that he was BJ Horseman's son.
hey! yes, at first they would definitely have to deal with a huge amount of gossip, journalists would break into their house, catch them on the street etc. i personally think that bobutters wouldn't hold a ceremony at all and instead simply sign; they'd rather celebrate their marriage in full during the honeymoon, where it'd be just the two of them.
so yeah, they would have a hard time at first with a bunch of chasing paparazzi and all that, but eventually it'd settle down. it's not that bojack would be much favored in the media after that, but in my opinion, they'd not have to hide the children, since by then no one would care anymore
about the fact that crackerjack eventually finds out about his father's past.... tbh it'd be VERY interesting to see heheh..... their relationship would change a lot, that's for sure, as well as his worldview in general. if you do decide to write a fanfiction or express this idea in some other form (comic? article?), i (we) will be happy read it! <3
reverse!au bobutters
initially the art looked like this, but i didn't really like this one so i removed everything unnecessary and just left these two
