bojack and mr peanutbutter after the end of the show:
so... i kinda wrote a fanfic! a pretty big one. naturally on bobutter. naturally on old married couple au. it's on ao3, and i'd be happy if you'd read it when you don't have anything else to do. i'll be posting chapters gradually. nothing serious, just a read after a hard day. i like this au so much that i wanted to write the origins of their relationship. so yeah! here's the link:
bojack is disappointed, but not surprised
hooray agent!pb au!
mr peanutbutter does his job and even succeeds until it comes to bojack. pb tries to persuade him to star in some movies which he got for him with his incredible charisma, but he bails every time. and pb sometimes picks bojack up from bars when he calls him because he can't say no (and because he's worried about him)
in the continuation of that post <3
mr peanutbutter and bojack from alpha!au in general
it's him as a kid
Thanks for responding and considering my idea! You even made wonderful art, thank you very much! I think that the fact that they are older would be one of the facts that would be more interesting in my idea, but at the same time I really think that it would take a while for both of them to consider the idea of having children... I'm not very good at math, but do you think it would work for them to be in their 40s after season 6? I guess that's PC's age, besides. But I don't really remember. Hopefully they would take about 10 years to consolidate the idea, when PB suddenly had baby fever and received a suggestion for Surrogacy. They would be around 50 years old, maybe. Then they would still be old parents. I was thinking they might have a stallion first, with Bojack's DNA. He could be a boy, in my mind, similar to Bojack. He would be shy, and obedient, a follower of rules. Although in adolescence I see him as more mean and rebellious, but with others and not with his parents. The problem of old age would be an important point in his story, as it would give him a sense of responsibility towards his younger brothers (Yes, Bobutter tried again some time later, but with Peanutbutter's DNA. It would be a pair of golden twins .), anxiety and constant worry about knowing how and when their parents could die. He would also be completely against drugs and alcohol, given Bojack's story. His name would perhaps be CrackerJack? Honoring his late great uncle. And the twins would be Sara and Lance. I'm still not sure about these names, but I thought it would be a good pun for Sarah Lynn. I thought about also giving compound names to honor Peanutbutter's parents, but I don't know what their names are, since they were never said in the series. They would be very hyperactive, distracted, but very smart twins. Sara would look a lot like PB, while Lance would, surprisingly, kind of look like Bojack. He loves sarcasm. They also really love Crackerjack, and almost always follow their big brother's orders. Lance admires his older brother a lot, but sometimes finds him very annoying. Sara too, but she already likes her brother's protective ways more, even though it can sometimes be suffocating.
oh actually your idea sounds even more interesting in that way. if their rather old age has any special effect on their relationship with the kids it'd be interesting to consider!
omg i was also thinking about labrador twins!! that's just such an awfully sweet concept! i also like that bobutters would name them after sarah lynn and crackerjack (or bojack could give one of his children the name harper out of strong sentimentality??).
you described their characters in an interesting way, especially crackerjack's one. it would also be interesting to explore it in more detail, and if you have any ideas exactly what he looks like, i would be glad to hear them!
thank you for your thoughts! they'd definitely make loving sometimes fucked-up parents. it would be fun to watch! :)
apparently i am the only bobutter shipper who thinks that pb hadn't been into bojack that whole time before they began living together....
i already made a post related to this topic btw. i just think that it would be quite interesting if pb started to gradually fall in love with bojack just the same as bojack started to fall in love with him after the end of the show. the problem is, if mr peanutbutter liked boj at first sight or smth like that, it doesn't sound.... right.... he didn't know the real bojack then, he saw only his media image, and behind it - just a broken self-destructive jerk
i like to think that he started getting to know him after bojack got out of prison. he finds out that bojack is into theater. bojack is good at driving. bojack can be kind and thoughtful. bojack can be sincere and vulnerable. etc etc etc. and he starts to love THIS part of bojack. pb knows his flaws, has seen him at his worst, he also knows his good sides, and begins to love him because of this, and not because bojack is simply charismatic/handsome/he was the first to pay attention to him after another divorce. it would show his growth as a character, since all his previous relationships were kinda... superficial? he loved katrina, jessica, diane, pickles, but those feelings weren't deep in my opinion (at least initially); i won't go into details, i think many people see it anyway and btw positvty has a great video on this issue.
a real friendship began to form between them only towards the end of the show - after that scene in the bar maybe? then bojack supports pb after he cheated on pickles. they had never been close before, and boj was really open with only a few people such as diane, herb... and, according to my assumptions (bobutter propaganda), after bojack's release from prison, their relationship continues to grow. pb is the only one who stayed with boj and did not distance himself from him (he did the opposite actually), and he sees this. and there is potential here. they work great together, but i'll talk about this some other time.......
however, i respect the opposite point of view, it's quite interesting too and i consider it as plausible as mine. i like to look at their relationship from a different angle, that's all
