I’m working on a special project over the next three months. I’ll be turning a short story of mine into an illustrated novella.
My goal is to combine my talents in illustration, writing, and design to create an expressive reading experience. I want there to be unity between art and text.
The main challenge will be to make the artwork useful for storytelling and to make it subdued enough to direct the reader's eyes around the page while minimizing distraction or interrupting their reading flow.
Here are a couple examples, with very different styles.

Adam Ferriss is a photographer and digital media artist based in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to his artistic practice, Adam runs the photography labs at Otis College of Art and Design. His most recent projects involve creating tri-chromatic color separation photographs and algorithmically restructuring pixel array data.
