YES YEEEES YESSSSSSSS-
I’ve recently become a real fan of your art style and works! Do you think you could draw some more your Dandy and the rest of the mains interactions?
I’d love to see (and if possible read) about them!
HELLO HI DEAR GOD THIS WAS IN MY INBOX FOR TWO WEEKS I APOLOGIZE! AND ALSO THANK YOU SO MUCH!
And I definitely could!!!
Back during the days of Gardenview, Dandy and Vee had a sort of friendly rivalry, courtesy of their show memories. Overtime, sadly, it morphed into a really petty and brutal fight for dominance in the workplace. The two would frequently get other toons and even human coworkers caught in the crossfire, oftentimes by getting them written up for exaggerated or flat out fake infractions.
The reason for their quarrel was really funny, though, they wanted to be the center of attention so, so badly.
After Gardenview closed, Vee netted an easy job in the TV industry, and remained a popular host of various programs, especially game shows.
When the ichor operation happened, Vee had mellowed out significantly, while Dandy very much didn't. That said, despite being a better person, she still hadn't fully acknowledged the hell she and Dandy put the others through, and would have to work on that (while also trying not to fucking die).
I'm not all too sure what Sprout and Dandy's relationship was and what it turned into, but I do have some details about his interactions with other toons! Namely Tisha.
Like most of the other mains, Sprout had a relatively easier time finding footing and success after the closure of Gardenview. Alongside Cosmo, he founded a very successful baking empire.
Tisha, by the time of the ichor operation, was also pretty successful. But unlike Sprout, she had to work her way up the corporate ladder to get to where she was (she went from a housekeeper to the head manager of a resort). Meeting everyone again reminded her of how most every toon had to similarly work their way up to a comfortable life, while most of the mains had it handed to them on a silver platter.
It also reminded her how much she didn't like Sprout. The years of discrimination that she experienced and she saw the other non-mains experience soured her view of most of the mains, and especially that of Sprout, whom she found to be the most open about looking down on all of them.
While Sprout, much like Vee, had mellowed out after the closure of Gardenview, those old attitudes were still there, and having them come back out again strained his friendship with Cosmo.
(Don't mind Rodger, he also thinks the mains were assholes)
Shelly's relationship with Dandy is-
Oh they're busy my bad.
Finally we get to Dandy and Astro's friendship. Astro was always the quiet, shy, kind of ditzy friend that Dandy had. Despite his rather gloomy exterior, he was always an optimist, sometimes a bit TOO optimistic. As the workplace environment further deteriorated in Gardenview, he was basically deep in denial about his closest friends being morphed into callous assholes.
When Gardenview closed, it gave him a lot of time to reflect on all those years, but he still held out hope that all of his friends would eventually improve themselves.
When the ichor operation happened, and meeting everyone again, Astro really thought that all of them had changed for the better, including Dandy, who seemed to be the goofy, friendly face he remembered from the early years.
A bit TOO goofy and friendly, though...
Throughout the operation, Dandy took advantage of Astro's willingness to reconnect and coerced him into keeping quiet about the nature of the operation and what was actually wrong with him.
It didn't last, though, and thankfully Astro came to his senses and helped everyone else in finally defeating Dandy, escaping the lower levels of Gardenview, and contacting the outside world for rescue and to get the flower man thrown in jail.
Oh yeah, Dandy goes to jail in my AU! The whole case is unprecedented and becomes quite the news sensation for a while, though most everyone involved would rather go back to their mundane lives.
Due to the novelty of the case, and due to the fact Dandy didn't have the means to pull off the operation anymore, his stint in prison was reduced to only a couple of months, and a couple of years of community service. Without his status, his money, or ichor to misuse, Dandy was reduced to quite a pathetic state, one which several other toons (and some others) couldn't help but to make fun of, adding to his punishment.
Eventually, some of them did warm up to the guy again, in a "Oh poor sopping wet bastard" kind of way. One of them being Astro. Slowly, as much as he could, anyways, Dandy made amends with several people, and him and Astro finally found themselves being friends.
For real this time.
