I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.
Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.
Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!

it's not glamorous, but it's also not honest work, and nobody needs to do it
goodnight to people who are unable to run goodnight to people who used to be known for 'running/skipping' everywhere until it became far too painful and dangerous goodnight to people who have a walking gait that shows deformity and 'disturbs others' goodnight to people who have limbs that 'move wrong' goodnight to people who walk with a limp goodnight to people who stumble and fall goodnight to people who use a mobility aid goodnight to people who use elevators goodnight to people who use shower-chairs goodnight to people who use ramps
what if you wore a shirt that featured a picture of you trying to claw your way out of the shirt with a horrid desperate expression and the text "THAT'S NOT ME THAT'S NOT ME I'M TRAPPED IN THE SHIRT"
Hannah Montana is fucked up because its entire POINT as a show is that children should be protected from fame and exploitation, but it stars a REAL little girl that's being exploited. Nearly every episode carries the looming threat of Miley being outed as Hannah and losing her peaceful teenage life to the ravages of fame. Her father in the show (played by her own father in real life) wisely protected her from the trauma of fame by making her wear a disguise and live a rather quiet, interview-free life. Meanwhile the REAL Billy Ray Cyrus sold his daughter to Disney Channel when she was 11 and forced her to read dialogue about how terrible it would be to face the public eye. Like... Jesus, dude. The fictional Robby Ray is 10x the father, and it's not even close. (It's also IMMENSELY funny that her dad doesn't use his real name in the show, while she does. Almost like he wanted a bit of a disconnect between his identity and his character. Something Miley didn't get.)
Eddie, posting to Tiktok at three in the morning: I think it’s perfectly okay if you’re a restless sleeper or you sleepwalk. That’s fine. I just think you should have goals…that’s not leaving my house.
Eddie: That makes it sound like I kidnapped someone. I didn’t. It’s just… My husband has been walking around in a circle for the last fifteen minutes
Eddie: And I want to go to bed but I can’t until he does because he has this bad habit of escaping and ending up at a hospital…or the woods.
Eddie: And yeah, I’m glad he’s not trying to break my ribs or- *flinches in surprise when a hand is suddenly shoved in front of his face*
Eddie, eyes flickering off screen: …yes?
Steve, after a long pause: Six dollar
Eddie, who adores sleeptalking Steve: For what?
Steve: Book fair
Eddie: …I have never wanted to live in your brain more than I do right now.
*tim getting kidnapped as red robin*
Tims newest kidnapper: If you dont comply i will very painfully carve out your spleen and ship it back to batman
Tim: Lmao you can try, infact i encourage you, I’ll personally help you in whatever evil scheme you have if you can get my spleen and ship it to batman
Kidnapper: What-
With that rule I can absolutely see someone starting an argument in a language someone else is less fluent in so they automatically have the upper hand
God the arguments between the batkids must be wild. They all know different languages the others don’t know and so someone is yelling in Spanish, someone is yelling in Arabic, there’s French being flung around and pretty sure Jason is cussing someone out in pig Latin. Bruce has a rule if they are going to argue everyone has to use the same language.
the family find out Jason is alive before he has the chance to come to Gotham as Red Hood because at 4am while searching for some random background videos to play while he worked, Tim stumbles upon the youtube channel that Jason’s been uploading survival videos to throughout his training at the LOA
Tim, not paying attention to the TV as he taps at his laptop:
the TV, autoplay enabled: “-part 2 of how to escape an old desert city, now I’ve been here for like two weeks but I got these magic swords now which is cool-“
Tim, slowly glancing at the screen and freezing:
“-also wanna say shout out to my little brother Damian, who demanded i put him in a video, so there we go, and also thanks to the commenter who pointed out in part 1 that around the ten minute mark there was some shadowy shape watching me in the distance, you were totally right and i took care of that fucker-“
