do you have any methods for bodily proportions and making poses less stiff with drawing? Ahshsjaja I’ve actually been super dissatisfied wit

I’m not totally confident in my grasp on anatomy but a few tips I find helpful are that most body parts and limbs have a sort of…lopsided rhombus shape to it, and while I should do more traditional figure drawing studies, I feel like getting into arcane and dc has helped me improve my anatomy because I subconsciously take notes of their poses and proportions while looking at them. Like, how far apart did they place the elbow from the waist? How much of the shoulder is the head covering in this foreshortened pose? Etc etc.

Then I pull that knowledge from my brain or find refs when I make my own pose. So yeah if you’re like me and are kind of lazy when it comes to doing figure drawing, look at other artists and how they do anatomy. Usually I have more fun with that bc I like to see how they stylize certain limbs or features

Another important thing is that doing studies and practice helps you learn to “think in 3D” if that makes sense…so you can draw limbs from different angles.I have a fairly stylized art style I think, but it’s always good to learn the basics :) hope this helps!
