Alex: So is this thing between Buck and Bucky supposed to be a secret? Brady: Hardly, the only people who donβt know are Buck and Bucky.

wish i could go missing for a little bit and no one would freak out and then i could come back and they'd be like "did you have fun going missing" and i'd be like "yeah, thanks" and then i could do that every couple of months or so and it wouldn't be a big deal

To the idea of Mav telling Bradley that he appreciates how much he values the idea of the perfect marriage Carole and Goose had but, at the same time, how unrealistic is because "kid, they were married four years and they spent together maybe two of them. They didn't had the time to see the other side of everything" in answer to Bradley asking why he continues to stay with Ice if all they do lately is fighting, to which Mav answers "what? Should I leave him because he's having a bad week and he's being a little more sarcastic than usual?" We can only π₯
Headcanon that Ice grew up rich and because he grew up rich he didn't know SHIT about housekeeping type chores until he made it into the military, and then it was a crash course on how to do laundry, general cleaning, and cooking. Slider fondly remembers the time he had to gently explain that no, Ice, you can't use regular dish soap in a dishwasher. Yes, the bubble river will happen every time you do. No, it won't hurt anything but if I get a goddamned nickname for sliding half down the hallway on your soap spill I'll make sure you get a worse one.
Maverick, on the other hand, grew up bouncing around the foster system. He learned early and learned fast; general chores were spread out amongst the foster kids and you had to do your chore or you would get in trouble. Once he aged out he had all the skills but the years living alone before he met Goose meant he had practically turned them into an art form, something Goose greatly appreciated when they were stateside.
Between the two of them, everyone always assumes that Ice is the homemaker and Mav is a domestic disaster, but its actually the complete opposite. Ice was ready to propose the first time Mav cooked for him, while Mav as officially banned Ice from laundry duty after one too many loads of whites got dyed pink.
Just wondering, did anyone else think that this is what the psychic meant when she said that Rebecca was going to be a mother?
Mav and Bradley reconcile and he finds out (it's not really a surprise tho) that Mav and Ice got married, so he apologizes for not being there for them at their wedding.
Mav blinks at him all confused because while he's feeling something at Bradley being so remorseful β looking like a kicked puppy, really β about missing a big moment of their life but also because, "Oh, no, buddy, we didn't have a wedding."
And the thing is, they got married when Ice's health took a turn for the worse, and it was allowed and legal and would, in Ice's opinion, make a lot of things easier for Mav in case he died β even just from an inheritance point, or just so the Navy doesn't forbid him from being part of the state funeral. It was a very quick sign the papers, get someone to officiate it in the hospital, and then get their lawyer to adjust the paperwork in the express time kind of marriage.
Things got better and life went on and they just, well, forgot to have a real wedding. And they were fine with it. They didn't need a wedding, in fact now that Bradley was back in their life, they couldn't be happier.
But in Bradley's head, an idea is born. Mav and Ice will have their 30th anniversary in a few months (more like almost 10...) and it's the perfect time to get them to have a wedding. You know, as a gift from him for missing all those years from their life.
The problem is, it very quickly turns out that Bradley is shitty at planning weddings. He doesn't know where to start and what needs to be organized and how to organize it in a way that lets it stays a surprise.
But you know who is good at it? Jake Seresin, brother of four sisters, planner of four weddings.
And how does Bradley know that? Well. He might or might not have been Jake's plus one to all four of those weddings.
