He really has a choice as to who he gets to be now. He COULD take the crown back, but he gets hit with the bliss of peace in the cult one day (while he’s, idk sitting under a tree, or gets wrapped up in daily life) and he goes, “Wait, this is actually kind of nice” - and BAM character development.

Ok I don’t know if this counts as a headcanon because it’s basically canon already but Sokka and Katara are really good looking?? Like exceptionally so. Like literally every character their age has a thing for them at some point in time, it’s honestly undeniable. And honestly I live for that. So in light of that small realization I drew them in formal attire. Also some zukka and kataang and a proud dad hakoda at the end.
