Understanding love

love

The ancient Greeks had a much broader and more complex view of love than most of us have today. For them, love was not just an emotion, but rather a set of different types of feelings and relationships. Here are some types of love researched by me:

eros love It’s the kind of relationship we often associate with the word “love.” This type is characterized by romance, passion and desire.

love philautia It is self-love, based on respect and self-worth. It is the type of love that allows us to take care of our mental and emotional health, prioritizing our well-being.

philia love It is brotherly love, based on friendship and camaraderie. It's the kind of love that arises between close friends, co-workers and family.

love storge It is family love, marked by affection and dedication to family members. It is the type of love that develops from blood ties and daily coexistence.

pragma love It is a love based on dedication to the greater good. it is practical and lasting love, based on compatibility and building a solid relationship over time. It is the type of love that develops from daily interaction and coexistence.

ágape love It is the universal meaning of love that we all aspire to feel. It is selfless, selfless and unconditional love. It is the type of love that seeks the well-being of others, without expecting anything in return. Also associated with divine love

love mania It is obsessive and possessive love, characterized by jealousy and insecurity. It is the type of love that can be harmful, as it suffocates and controls the other person.

love xênia In ancient Greece, hospitality was a common and respected practice. The word xenia refers to the relationship established between host and host.

ludus love It is playful and playful love, characterized by lightness and fun. It is the type of love that manifests itself in more relaxed and uncommitted relationships.

How to get back into your practice after a burnout

Alot of times in our practices, we often just straight up forget. Not going to lie to you I didn't practice much until I got out of my mom's home...which was one year ago. And I also have a theory that since paganism isnt dogmatic and is meant to be ran by a community we fall out really easy, it's natural, paganism is different now. But anyways here is chaos's master guide on how to put on your big girl panties and get back the work.

(disclaimer: just because these things worked for me doesn't mean it's going to work for everyone else, this post is completely upg. I'm just offering advice.)

Starting out small

What never stuck to me is those post that are like: "stir your intentions into your coffee, light incense, pray" because like yeah thats a good way to start off I really dont think itll set in our brains to do this everyday. Instead what I recommend is finding days to practice and sticking to that day. Find a day where you useally do nothing and dedicate it to getting back into your practice.

You could use this day to research on all the things you forgotten (been there)

Or you could just leave offerings out for your deities and call it a day

I think if you uphold a certain schedule your mind will get into the habit of "oh today's witch day, time to do witchcraft" this is basic psychology, and I promise it works 😭😭

Deity work and getting back into it

Little reminder: your gods are not mad at you. They do not hate you. They love you.

I have had so many falling outs with deities because I just couldn't uphold a schedule. Hekate being one of them. Hekate really showed me the way once I moved out of my mother's house, and after so many ins and outs of my worship to her, she still showed me love and compassion. I promise your gods will do the same. They understand our mortal lives more then you comprehend. After all, this is their earth.

Stuff you can do to get back into worship with your deities:

- offerings, big or small

- dedicate days to them, in my schedule Hekate is worshipped on Monday, and Aphrodite on Friday.

- research ways to connect with them more

- don't make big promises that you will get back into your practice and never fall out again, thats just putting yourself in more responsibility, your gods will now expect that responsibility. I've done this before and I definitely got side eyed by Hekate 😭😭

Subtle deity worship

I honestly used this alot to get back into worship with my deities 😭😭 these posts go into worship you could do for deities while you are either hiding your practice or just want to do something for your gods. Really helpful post 10/10.

Getting back into witchcraft

I know I kind of went over this already, but I feel like there needs to be some small steps to getting back into witchcraft before we get to rituals, spells and stuff of that sort.

To get back into witchcraft, I recommend meditating, either by yourself or with your deities. Meditation allows you to just focus on the present and let go of all your stresses. I like to meditate with my deities because I get visions from them easily this way, it's easier for me to communicate.

From there you can do research on the basics of witchcraft and work your way up to rituals and spell work... hopefully all of this makes sense

Anyways yeah that's all the advice I have to getting back into your practice, if I have anything else to add I'll reblog this and add more. But yeah! I really hopes this helps at least someone lol.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Kinda late buttt HOLIDAY GRIM X MC FIC!

Fic ahead uses his real name sooo spoilers for that :3

"I am not wearing that sweater! It looks itchy!" Casper says, glaring at you as you proudly hold up a winter themed sweater. He huffs as he glares at you, clearly not happy with your request.

"Casper. Come on...pleaseee?" You insist, trying to use the weapon of a pout and puppy dog eyes against him. His face softens as he sighs.

"You...are insufferable. Hand me the sweater." Casper demands, holding out his hands. You smile happily and quickly hand him the sweater. He stares at you and motions for you to turn around.

About a minute after turning around Casper clears his throat, indicating that you can look again. When you turn around and see Casper, he was wearing the sweater and looked utterly adorable in it. A large smile quickly forms on your face as Casper frowns and crosses his arms.

"Are you happy now, sunshine?" Casper asks, attempting to hide the smile forming on his face as you eagerly nod. His attempt failed miserably as he chuckled and broke out into a smile.

"Good. If you're happy, I'm happy." He states smiling. The sweater perfectly complimented him, despite his pale complexion..he looked perfect in the pale blue sweater. Perhaps that's just a Casper thing, to be able to pull off anything and everything. He sighs as he glances down at the sweater.

"It's...better than I expected." He mutters, not wanting to admit how comfortable he truly felt in the sweater.

A few hours later, you and Casper arrive at your apartment after a dinner with friends. Casper was still wearing the sweater and turned to you suddenly.

"Stay here." He says as he quickly dissapears. You stand in place, confused. A few moments later Casper comes back and walks up to you with a smile. He moves an arm from behind his back to hang something above the two of you.

"I read that it's a human tradition during the holidays that when two people stand under a mistletoe, then they must kiss." He says smiling.

"Consider this payback for making me wear this ridiculously comfortable sweater." He says as he gently cups your face in his hand and leans in to kiss you. It was a quick but sweet kiss. As Casper pulls away he smiles sweetly at you and sighs.

"I don't think I'll ever get tired of kissing you, my sunflower..." He mumbles softly as he stares into your eyes, caressing your cheek.

Mc getting him a sunflower plushie!

C: "Is this a sunflower plush? Why?"

MC: "Yes. It is. Remember how the first flowers you gave me were sunflowers?"

C: "Oh...yes...I remember that. But why a plushie?"

MC: "You said sunflowers remind me of you. Plus, this one can't die."

C: "...I maybe hate you for that."

He says that he maybe hates MC because he refuses to admit that the sunflower plushie made him happy, and since he can't lie he had to dance around the truth.

First date scenario after ending 3!

Varying shades of golden yellow wave in the wind. The crunching of walking as you both hold hands in silence, walking through the sunflower field as you enjoy eachothers presence. Suddenly, Casper stops and turns towards you.

C: "Sunshine?"

He asks softly, smiling.

MC: "Yes, love..?"

You reply, tilting your head.

C: "....Fuck..how do I say this..."

He mutters under his breath, sounding nervous as he glances at the ground. The sun setting in the background, a beautiful scene playing out in front of your eyes. A blushing Casper who's nervous to say whatever he wants to, standing in a sunflower field while the sunsets behind him. Not just any sunflower field, however, but the sunflower field that he imagines your wedding taking place in.

C: "Ah uhm...you're...goregous, amazing, kind, perfect..."

He continues to spew out compliments to you until his breath hitches in his throat, then silence. He sighs and speaks once more.

C: "...My sunflower, what I'm trying to say is that you mean the world and more to me. I....appreciate you...I appreciate everything you've done for me. I've never had anybody care for me quite like you do...so thank you."

He brushed some of his long white hair behind his ear and glances away, clearly flustered by his own words.

I also hc that along with calling MC sunshine, he calls them his sunflower.
