My heart was legitimately beating in my ears and my whole body was shaking at the end of this chapter.

I’ve been so unmotivated to draw fully colored comics because I’ve been so depressed at the state of the world, and this chapter grabbed me by my neck and DRAGGED me out of my hiatus holy GOD. Thank you PittedPeaches for emotionally ripping me to pieces with this amazing build up and pay off with this most recent chapter, I seriously jumped out of my seat to draw this after reading it.

"Don't use Libby because it costs libraries too much, pirate instead" is such a weird, anti-patron, anti-author take that somehow manages to also be anti-library, in my professional librarian-ass opinion.

It's well documented that pirating books negatively affects authors directly* in a way that pirating movies or TV shows doesn't affect actors or writers, so I will likely always be anti-book piracy unless there's absolutely, positively no other option (i.e. the book simply doesn't exist outside of online archives at all, or in a particular language).

Also, yeah, Libby and Hoopla licenses are really expensive, but libraries buy them SO THAT PATRONS CAN USE THEM. If you're gonna be pissed at anybody about this shitty state of affairs, be pissed at publishing companies and continue to use Libby or Hoopla at your library so we can continue to justify having it to our funding bodies.

One of the best ways to support your library having services you like is to USE THOSE SERVICES. Yes, even if they are expensive.

hey i read a reply you posted on the israel and palestine situation where you said you were not in a financial position to donate sadly, i was wondering if you knew of a link or something you would like to donate to but can't and if you wanted to share it

Humanitarian aid isn't being allowed into Gaza for some god forsaken reason, so I'm not really sure about donating to them right now(though if you know any. lmk). Egyptian clinics that donate sanitary products would be your best bet but I just checked and they've closed donations. A much more helpful action would be to sign a petition for ceasefire in Gaza

Another way you can help is to donate e-sims since telecommunications have been cut from them. They've managed to bring back wifi themselves(no, Elon Musk didnt do that), but it would still help them to have this.
