In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
This is heartbreaking.
This harsh weather is expected to last for the next 30 to 40 days as part of the rainy season in Gaza.
The Sameer Project is fundraising to provide families in the south of Gaza with tents and tarps but most importantly, since tents can't really protect against the cold, the team is looking to buy hats, baby clothes, gloves and blankets to distribute in the area. I encourage you all to donate and/or share their donation link or their social posts.
Hershel isn't the only human the Cakelings can encounter. Charoen here insists that they learn the ways of combat and survival, and to that end sets up an arena in Tartlet Town where they can spar!
hey reminder that connecting humanity is extremely low on esims rn and desperately needs esim donations and also that there are a lot of cool things you can get in exchange for a donation
If you're also frustrated with how only people lucky enough to get traction on a tiny microblogging platform can afford to eat and reestablish their lives, then PLEASE donate to The Sameer Project. This is a legitimate, grassroots organization providing vital aid in the form of food, tents, money, medicine, diapers and baby supplies directly to as many Palestinians as possible, regardless of internet clout. They can buy supplies in bulk and give them systematically to those most in need. Right now, they're this much funded:
Let's please raise the full amount? https://chuffed.org/project/help-us-deliver-vital-aid-to-gaza-families-in-need Apologies for tagging.

Hello! On behalf of the project creator who is dealing with financial trouble we are posting her commission info and ko-fi link. For 5 dollars a month you can help her pay off her student loans, afford rent, and keep creating in a safe environment!~ without her this project wouldn’t be possible nor could it move forward without her.
Here’s some of the work she created for this project!
