Exception Questions - In solution-focused family therapy, a technique whereby therapists ask families to recall situations when the problem was absent or less severe
Fluid Intelligence - The ability to reason when faced with novel problems

I fucking love that big feet bird that has a random word over it.
Love is wishing that your lover died before you so they don't have to go through the pain of losing you.
Love is wishing that your lover lives longer than you so they can experience more of what life has to offer them

Stabbed! A short comic
made for an anthology awhile ago
to try to include in your next poem/story
Book-bosomed - coined by Sir Walter Scott; means "carrying a book at all times." If you love books, certainly you've been book-bosomed at times in your life.
Caliginous - misty, dark
Dithyramb - a usually short poem in an inspired wild irregular strain. This word comes from the Greek word dithyrambos which was the name for a wild and irregular poem honoring Dionysus, the god of wine, who was often lauded throughout the year during festivals at which poems of this style were read.
Embonpoint - plumpness of person; stoutness
Farinaceous - having a mealy texture or surface
Farouche - marked by shyness and lack of social graces
Florilegium - a volume of writings; an anthology. The word was borrowed into English from a New Latin word that comes from Latin florilegus meaning "culling flowers." Think of a florilegium as a bouquet of writings, specially selected and arranged for your enjoyment.
Goety - black magic or witchcraft in which the assistance of evil spirits is invoked
Lachrymist - one given to weeping
Lamia - a female demon; vampire
Osseous - bony
Phantasmagoria - a bizarre or fantastic combination, collection, or assemblage
Stygian - extremely dark, gloomy, or forbidding
Tenebrous - shut off from the light
Theurgy - the art or technique of compelling or persuading a god or beneficent or supernatural power to do or refrain from doing something
If any of these words make their way into your next poem/story, please tag me, or leave a link in the replies. I would love to read them!

Kinda disheartening tbh when you search for people talking about something on tumblr and you find only a single post with like 10 notes. Anyway, I learned about this from Facebook just today and decided I'm going to abuse my follower count to spread the word.
You'll have a hard time finding this in the news because it's being covered up, but from February 4-present the RCMP have been conducting raids on multiple Mi'kmaw reserves part of Acadia First Nation. Their excuse is that they are searching for illegal cannabis.
During the raids, so far they:
Stole a number of truck houses
Stole money from an 8-yo boy's piggy-bank that he had been saving for two years
Invaded homes and destroyed personal property, including basketwork and carvings
Broke the door down of a bathroom occupied by a 14-yo boy as he was using it - the boy has been traumatized by this
Assaulted a man for questioning why they were searching his property without providing a warrant, pinning him into the snow
Cut power of security cameras to hide these actions
I cannot stress enough that the RCMP coming down this hard on our people over motherfucking cannabis is nothing but a racist excuse. There are countless, countless, countless white-owned massive grow-ops making big money without cops lifting a single finger.
There is an informal petition you can sign here.
If you live in or near Halifax: There will be a public protest on the Angus MacDonald Bridge at noon on March 10, 2025.
