people who don't wear glasses are so weird like you just wake up and your eyes are pussy fresh??
Everyone should ALWAYS be downloading fanfic in EPub format and NOT PDF format and this is why:
The problem with trying to map out the DC fictional cities is that, they are always changing, sometimes Gotham is in New York, sometimes Metropolis is across the river from Gotham and sometimes it's half-way across the states, depending on which comic/movie/show you're watching. So technically, everyone is right about where they think the cities are, statistically speaking there's a canon where that's where they are.
Yep!!! Most DC locations are very generalized. they are somewhere in California or somewhere on this coast. It’s a mess. Quite a lot of the maps you see online are speculated locations for the cities to be located.
DC rule #1: Continuity is a sham. Everything is canon and also not and also it is but only slightly.
My main view on all comics is to just build your own personal canon. There’s 75 years worth of comics. There’s no way you’re gonna read ALL of it. Pick and choose the comics you like and ideas you enjoy and build your own personal view of the character and world. Mine might be different than yours and that’s ok, that’s how comics are meant to be.
If ya think metropolis is on the east coast? Sure. Why not. Go for it. In DC time is a thick soup and the world is Mr. Mxyzptlk’s playground. Anything is possible.
Let's talk about interests for a moment. Specifically, let's talk about ADHD interests. As ADHDers, we sometimes experience what are referred to as "hyperfixations", or those interests that are extremely intense and consuming for a while but then fade out of our lives for seemingly no reason at all.
For some ADHDers, this can be a really discouraging trait. I'm definitely a person who used to get very upset with myself over it. If I can't hold onto a hobby and I know it'll be gone soon, what's the point in being excited about it?
It gets really frustrating to deal with. And honestly, the horrible things I used to tell myself over it were extremely damaging to my mental health overall. However, after spending a lot of time working through it, I've realized all that shame isn't going to change the way my brain works.
All it does is make me miserable! It sucks out all the joy and excitement from my life. Here's what I learned, a little wisdom I'd like to impart upon the reader.
My interests are still valid and so are yours. They may be drastically different by next week, but that's not inherently a bad thing. It's certainly infuriating for some of us - don't get me wrong.
But our brains need novelty. Our brains need a surge of things that are new to get through life without being bored. Have you ever noticed that rearranging your desk suddenly makes writing that economics paper a task that's actually possible, or that buying a new sponge gets you up to clean your sink, or that getting really invested in a new show makes you motivated to create art? The thing that those situations have in common is that something is new.
We simply don't get motivated the same way neurotypical people do. Novelty is one way that many ADHDers overcome their executive dysfunction. It lets our brains do something!
And then that new thing gets old. It's no longer new, so we move on to something else. It doesn't make us any less deserving of excitement, no matter WHAT neurotypicals want to tell us (and what we internalize from that).
What I'm getting at here is that you're allowed to be excited about that show. You're allowed to reorganize your computer as often as you want. You're allowed to loop that new song 60 times in a row. You deserve to live your life in a way that brings you joy and fulfillment, not in a way that someone else thinks you should. It's okay to be interested in things.
If you've got no one to be excited with, my askbox is open. I would love to hear about whatever you're interested in right now. You deserve enthusiasm, my friend.
I wish you a wonderful week. Remember, you are valid and loved just as you are!
I made another post about Danny and about how the justice league believes that something exists in the ghost zone then that makes it exist, but I had an idea since then.
So as a joke, John and Danny claim to be related. (Jazz, Dan, and Dani get in on it too.)
Batman: ...you have a family.
John: what? You think you're the only one with kids?
Batman: that *points at Dan* is a grown ass man.
Dan: hey dad, Jazz wants to know if you'll pick up some milk from the store, she says we're out.
John: sure, she want anything else?
Dan: nah but Dani wants you to grab some pizza while you're there.
Batman:....
And at some point, they start coming to him with their problems.
Dan needs a place to stay? Johns couch is free.
Danny needs help with schoolwork? John might not know what the answer is, but he'll try and help.
Jazz needs someone to rant to? She'll call John.
Dani needs help dismantling a cult? John will be right there in an hour.
They don't acknowledge it outloud, but if they have a problem John is the first person they think of to call for help.
The ghost zone and it's inhabitants also accept John as the ghost kids parent, like if they say it's true then it must be true.
Then they start changing just a bit.
Their hair gets lighter (closer to blonde) their eyes change by a couple shades, and unknown to them, their DNA changes.
And they don't really notice it...
Until they start developing magic.
And Jazz nearly kills someone with that magic when her breakfast attacks her.
