it should be noted that this thought concept is most well known (originating from iirc but don't quote that) from George Orwell's book 1984. it is a method used by the government to confuse and oppress until the main protagonist learns to 'speak their language' to abuse and eventually escape the corrupt system.
their language may be evil, but speaking it and being able to talk your way out on their terms will save your life.
(Please check out this video as this is gonna be the real meat of the post and this guy does a better job than I could simply)
Double speak is way of making one thing sound like something else. It's the art of misleading someone in speech.
Youll find many famous Pagan characters and stories have this moment: Loki, Famous evil cult leaders from the 70s, Satan in the Bible, really any character of mischief in mythology.
Get this! Its also common in US politics. Presidents, politicians, good and bad.
So in conclusion, I am not failing my classes I am "Struggling to reach the ideal point of resolve for my educational goals"
Most of them about power, law, storms, kingship. Things you’d expect from the king of the gods.
But Zeus-Lekheatês stops me in my tracks. It’s one of the most unexpectedly tender epithets he has.
The name Lekheatês comes from lekheion, which refers to the bed where a woman would give birth. So Zeus-Lekheatês is, in essence, Zeus as the god of childbirth. The god who protects women during labor. Which, if you really think about it, is wildly fascinating because it’s so unlike the usual way Zeus is framed.
Birth was dangerous in the ancient world. No epidurals, no modern medicine. Just blood, pain, and the gods’ mercy. A mother could die. The baby could die. It was a moment of pure vulnerability, teetering on the edge between life and death. And here’s Zeus, not just presiding over grand cosmic fates or battles or oaths, but over this. Over the most raw, intimate struggle of all. Over the act of bringing life into the world.
And the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Zeus is, above all else, the god of balance. The one who maintains order, who ensures the cosmos doesn’t spiral into chaos. And what is birth if not the ultimate balance between life and death? A single moment where fate could tip either way? Zeus doesn’t just decide who wins wars, he decides who lives, and that includes the smallest, most fragile of beginnings. It’s an aspect of him that feels strangely human, almost gentle. It’s not the Zeus of the thunderbolts or the one swearing unbreakable oaths on the Styx. It’s Zeus as a guardian. A protector.
And if that doesn’t change how you see him, even just a little, I don’t know what will.
does she have it out for you, or is she trying to get your attention on something?
the Gods do not just dislike. that's not how they work. they don't have petty grudges or just not like someone. they are not human. they are Gods.
if your petitions to Aphrodite are not working, you are missing something.
maybe you have some learning or growing to do, a habit to break, maybe this is a lesson in perserverance or looking for love in the wrong places.
somewhere there's that poem about someone's dog wanting chocoloate because she doesn't know it will hurt her and the Gods witholding the things we pray for for the same reason
if you genuinely think a deity is angry with you, check yourself first. what are you doing that is in active opposition to their teachings? what would they be mad about in the first place? if you can't find it, you are convincing yourself of failure for no reason.
Hey witchy side of Tumblr quick question why does Aphrodite seem to have it out for me?
And what can I do get her to not hate me?

it's not fucking about hating femaleness you absolute twit, but also yes people do get way fucking enraged about menstrual magic.
you can practice menstrual magic all you fucking what without hurting a damn soul (unless that's the intention ofc, anti-threefold here) but the second you make menstrual magic a REQUIREMENT for "proper" magic
you become a TERF
menstrual magic is yet another spell component that not everyone has access to because not all women menstruate, and some men do. that's it. if you use it, good for you. if you don't, good for you.
you do not get to decide how others walk their path, and if you are going to trash talk someone's magical methods, go stick your head back in your cave and yell, your echo will agree with you more
I think it’s crazy how many people will get upset in the witchcraft community about menstrual work of any kind. Because you know, it’s terfy or something.
I have seen so many videos where women try their best to talk about menstrual work without making TRAs mad. But they get mad anyway.
It seems like some people just really hate femaleness, and any one who would dare to see it in a positive light. And males will hate anything they can’t be a part of it seems.
my phone isn’t charging even though i plugged her innnnn dramatic ass bitch. YOUR PUSSY IS FILLED! WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT
USING YOUR MENTAL SAFE SPACE AS AN ASTRAL STRONGHOLD
if they want your information they’re feds
I'm sorry but it's way too sketchy to have to "sign up" for a protest. There's no reason you should have to give anyone your full name, email, phone number, and/or address in order to march in the streets. People are getting arrested left and right because cops have access to information that connects people to the protests they were at. If an organization is having people "sign up to join the fight," all the cops need to do is access that list.
Just go. Don't leave a fucking paper trail.
I FUCKING KNEW IT BUT I FORGOT WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE IN THE PIC WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS
