I started watching Star Trek in September, 1966. So you might say that I’m an old fan who has found all the new Trek a joy. It’s very important that Star Trek grows but still be true to itself, as it is. There will always be those nay-sayers. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. That being said, I found that first episode of SNW very moving, chilling, and also a warning to us.
#TOS #SNW #Star Trek must evolve
First episode of Strange New Worlds almost made me cry. I can see now why so maybe boomer fans and dudebros scared of progressive views hate this series. People who hate progress and call any kind of honesty "woke pandering."
The idea of World War 3 is terrifying. But with the way the world is now it's a high possibility. Pike's words are true. Horrifying and real. But he's right. We need to overcome these things to ever be able to become more than we are. The things humanity could do if we pushed past our own hate and war? I genuinely believe we could reach amazing beautiful things far beyond our imaginations.
This show is extremely political. In order to reach Star Trek we need to be. We have to self reflect and work against our own broken views. Imagining a world where we could be beyond that is beautiful. But it comes at a cost. Being faced with our own downfalls is hard. It's scary. We'll destroy ourselves if we don't. Some people refuse to see that and aren't ready to.
This is why this show resonates so much with younger fans. It almost brought me to tears. It's everything Star Trek should be. His words are all that it embodies. Now we're in an age when those kind of words can finally be spoken and make all of us look up and think,
"We can do it."
This photo is amazing. One of the best shots from Into Darkness. Does anyone have Chris Pine in this scene from another angle?
Might be time to go all oscar all the time and change my name to oscar-farr?

Everyone should see this movie. It's haunting, beautifully acted, and breathtakingly stunning visually. Chris Pine had the more internal, harder role and he's fabulous.
Why in the hell did you agree to do it?
Because you asked, little brother.
It's really important to add the rest of this statement....this is what I was born into. Kirk at this moment finally knows what his true destiny is.
Better to die saving lives, than to live with taking them. (x)
These may be very comfy, but are they ugly! Wayfair has some really well designed pieces...just not these
Armani Code- So much better than 1st ad campaign. He's beautiful.
What a fabulous book!
This obviously doesn't go with the above. Got on wrong blog. But really, no talk of assassination. Looking at darling kitties is soooo much better. I miss mine so much.
guys watch the kittens, take your mind of things if only for a moment.
Chris Pine- the best Chris! Forever!
He was hoping his Chris soulmate was Hemsworth!
