Caffeine caf·feine /kaˈfēn,ˈkafˌēn/ noun 1) if you truly need it, you need a new career. 2a) a bitter crystalline alkaloid, C8H10N4O2, usually found in coffee, tea, cacao (chocolate), and kola nuts (cola). and used medicinally as a stimulant of the central nervous system and diuretic. b) medically, caffeine can cause anxiety, insomnia, nervousness, and hypertension. Caffeine is a diuretic and increases urination. It can decrease a person's ability to lose weight because it stimulates insulin secretion, which reduces blood sugar, which increases hunger. Caffeine can help to relieve headaches, so a number of over-the-counter and prescription pain relievers include it as an ingredient, usually with aspirin or another analgesic. This was one of the first organic chemicals I learners to synthesize in biochemistry and organic chemistry. The reaction, then, was very hard, with very low efficiency; only a fraction of the initial reactants made it into the final product form. I didn't drink coffee then, and I love it now. But I don't need it to get through the day, I enjoy the small pick me up and love the taste of a manjari mocha. Here's to all those who agree with my first definition!
"The trouble with eating Italian food, is that five or six days later you're hungry again" -George Miller Buca is, and by a very large margin, the greatest Italian food I have found in Canada. Sharing meals with friends and family are some of my favorite memories growing up; and the best way to get to know people now. "In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields." -John McCrae #finance #financialplanning #entrepreneur #remember #thankful #humble #legion #rememberanceday #veteransday #armisticeday #troops (at Prince's Island Park)
Some say he never blinks, and that he roams around the woods at night foraging for wolves. All we know is he's called the Stig. Errr, well "M" in this case. Always good to catch up with a friend from the west coast. Can't wait for my next visit...and the day you'll let me try one at Area 27.
Winery of the day #3 Tantalus Vineyard. Sobriety is a losing battle. This is what a vineyard looks like all to yourself on a private patio...if only for a moment. It makes me wish I could upload a 270 degree panoramic. My second glass of 2013 Riesling Special Reserve, something pretentious. It's awesome btw. #entrepreneur #finance #business #vacation #wine #winetasting #winery #okanagan (at Tantalus Vineyards)
What's the story morning glory? Up before the Sun, the cloudiness of champagne from the Pac Rim the night before notable at the forefront of my mind. Was it too much music? Too much champagne? Was the private dinner @andyfreeman99 hosted excessively kind? Was the company unduly charming? Was Roman Payne's soliloquy correct when he said: "Champagne arrived in flûtes on trays, and we emptied them with gladness in our hearts... for when feasts are laid and classical music is played, where champagne is drunk once the sun has sunk and the season of summer is alive in spicy bloom, and beautiful women fill the room, and are generous with laughter and smiles... these things fill men's hearts with joy and remind one that life’s bounty is not always fleeting but can be captured, and enjoyed. It is in writing about this scene that I relive this night in my soul." It was a great night, both ended a 0400 and began 630 with a walk down the waterfront. But first, this sunrise. #financialplanning #finance #entrepreneur #hustle #greatful #champagne #pacrim #sunrise #wine (at Coal Harbour)
As I peel my eyes open and realize it is the last day of the #calgarystampede this year, I can't help but smile. The concerts, the memories, the rodeo, 2:00am golden inn runs, the corporate events, all the breakfasts, guys night, etc. It was an amazing 10 days. But as I try to sit up and I feel the pain emanating from my bones and somewhere behind my eyes, I am forced to come to one undeniable conclusion. You win Stampede. You win. #calgary #calgarystampede2016 #yyc #stampede #memories #workhardplayhard (at Calgary, Alberta)
"I have loved the stars too fondly, to be fearful of the night." -Sarah Williams Maybe walking around Montreal for hours, as night turns to morning, makes you brain play tricks on you. But on my way back to the hotel I came across this unknown building right out of Gotham city. Two facts remain undoubted. 1) Old Montreal is exquisite 2) My inner nerd loves Batman I can almost hear Harvey Dent say, "The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming." As I stare at this structure before cutting over some tracks back to my hotel I smile to myself over the simple moments in life that make you life worth living. (at Montreal, Quebec)
