The movie Wicked is proof that any source material can be vastly improved by simply making the intense female friendship much gayer + the mutual male love interest both wildly bisexual and lowkey down to just be their third
"dexterity training".
I think Lucanis is a man of actions, not words.
Lucanis has the opportunity to take care of someone for the first time (or for the first time in a long time).
He will…
Protect your sleep, no matter how short it is.
Not just cook food for you and other companions - make sure your plate is full and you eat enough.
Check that your wounds are healing. That his treatment helps.
Know that your armor is intact and your sword is always ready for a battle. But the best armor for you is Lucanis himself.
Believe that the people you travel with won't let you down when he's not around. He'll explain them in private how to best watch your back.
Try to make sure that you don’t stain your clothes with the blood of enemies. Your hands. It is easier for him to live with the understanding that only his hands are unclean.
Wish silently that where your foot steppes the ground is firm. That the sky above your head is bright.
He can't say that.
The most he can say at the beginning of journey is:
"I’ll protect you".
Need to understand that the promise of protection from him is something that you will carry through entire life.
But Lucanis has no idea that his greatest feat is just…
To live for his friends. To be alive for you.
He's got that irresistible Mysterious Italian Attachment Style(c) with social awkwardness sprinkled on top.
don't give up
Because I realized no one has made one yet!I'll keep adding songs
Citra's middle name is Querida. I don't speak Spanish, but I'm pretty sure "querida" means "darling."
Greyson's middle name is TIMOTHY, which apparently means "God's honor," "honored by God," "honoring God," etc. which... lmfao I love him so much.
Rowan's is Daniel, which means "God is my judge."
So, we have: Citra "everyone's angel to protect at all costs" Terranova, Greyson "the Thunderhead's blatant favouritism" Tolliver, and Rowan "only God can judge me" Damisch.
Sounds about right

I think the message of Howl’s Moving Castle is that in order to maintain a successful relationship with some kind of fucked up wizard, you must find it in yourself to also be some kind of fucked up wizard.

all 30 swords designs!
Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!
Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.
I know that Mass Effect 3 gets a lot of shit - and fuck knows it deserves it - but I swear it also has the ability to make me feel more emotions than any other piece of media ever has.
Forget the endings bullshit, and the ridiculousness of Kai Leng - it's about Javik's voice when he asks you "Why didn't you prepare for the reapers, human?" It's the old lady whose daughter is dead on earth, but she doesn't know, and doesn't remember she's talking to her asari daughter in law. It's the kid in the refugee camp, waiting for her parents. It's Mordin singing Amazing Grace, Thane's last prayer, Legion and Tali on Rannoch - does this unit have a soul? It's asking the elcor ambassador how many of his people you managed to save and hearing "Not. Enough." It's hearing the casualty reports over the radio in London - areas reporting 90, 95 percent casualties - and knowing there's nothing you can do. It's hearing Anderson whisper "You did good, child" as he dies. It's hearing Hackett's voice and standing up one last time, ready to fight, ready to die.
I think a lot about Shepard's fish tank wipeout in the Citadel DLC.
The entire DLC is this lighthearted love letter to Mass Effect, and it's beautiful. But then there's THIS moment. When Shepard falls through a fish tank.
The entire way down, they desperately try to arrest their fall. They have no shields. No combat armor. There is no one to catch them. It feels like this is one of the few times there is ever fear. And they don't land gently. And the cut scene lingers on it. There is no levity in this moment. Shepard is on the ground, groaning in pain, slow to get up, clutching their ribs. First instinct before they try to get to their feet? Reach for the gun. Have that first. Then see if you can stand.
And I think the only reason we can have this moment, where Shepard is vulnerable, injured, and in trouble, is because there is no one there to see. The moment Brooks gets on the comm, they crack a joke. "Yup. Feeling good." While unable to stand up straight.
We get this at the end of the game, too, but that's when the stakes are at their highest. That's when it's supposed to be hard. It's no less magnificent then, but now, in this moment? When everything was happy and fun and silly? MAN.
And afterward, everyone jokes about it. Every single member of your squad makes a crack about the sushi place. And Shepard plays along. Haha, yeah, fell right through it, while trying to change the subject.
No one knows what that fall was like. No one saw Shepard lying on the ground in the bowls of the Silversun Strip, water dripping off them, struggling to get to their feet.
And no one asks, because it's Shepard.
Dragon Age Origins: We are all, in some sense, outcast from society. It may only technically be two of our number's job to save the world, but frankly, none of us have anywhere else to go - and definitely nothing better to do.
Mass Effect: We emerge from complex histories. We are separated by prejudices and old injustices, and how any of us are figuring out to fly this half-human-half-turian monstrosity of a ship is anybody's guess. But as the world hurtles toward an apocalypse, we may find the strength - not just to beat the Reapers, but right some of history's wrongs as well.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Okay. Seriously. Does anybody here not have a probably fatal to themselves and possibly to everybody around them pre-existing condition that has nothing to do with the current tadpole crisis? Anybody? No wonder no one's too fussed about the mindflayers, we're all going to die of previous poor life choices before that even becomes an issue.
My Favourite Mass Effect Companions (Part One)

You guys remember the epilogue slide from Trespasser if Dorian and the Iron Bull are in a relationship?
"On one occasion, Venatori forces ambushed Dorian, who likely would have died... had not an unnamed mercenary band led by a Tal-Vashoth warrior crossed Tevinter's border and mounted a dangerous rescue operation. The mercenaries left a trail of freed slaves and dead Venatori in their wake, enabling Dorian to escape. When asked about the Tal-Vashoth in question, Magister Pavus declined to comment."
"Far from Home (The Raven)" by Sam Tinnesz has the following lyrics in the second verse:
"I'm sending a raven
With blood on it's wings
Hoping it reaches you in time
And you know what it means
Cause out here in the darkness
And out of the light
If you get to me too late
Just know that I tried"
Dorian knew the attack was coming, but didn't have enough time to get himself out of harm's way. In a last, desperate attempt, he sent a raven to the Charger's last known location, knowing that they would probably not receive the message until well after the ambush was over and he was dead. He didn't have time to write much, so he just wrote "Venatori" and his location. And then all he could do was pray to the Maker for the raven to reach its destination in time.
This is the closest he gets to dying, the most successful plot to stop his efforts to reform Tevinter. He's alone, fighting several Venatori on his own, and he's losing. He's tiring, he's out of mana, and he's hurt.
He thinks of the Iron Bull, how Tevinter is still his homeland, but it isn't his home anymore. His home is in Bull's arms, and he'll never be there again. He tries to keep fighting, as long as he can, but he's slipping. The Venatori know it, they've started penning him in, drawing out the last of his power and aiming to neutralize, not to injure. This is it.
And then he hears "Horns Up!" and watches several familiar figures charge his opponents. One of them, the largest, barrels down the cultist in front of him. Dorian collapses, no longer able to support his own weight, but that's okay, because Bull is there to catch him. And he’s home now.
I’ve been playing Dragon Age: Inquisition again lately, and I was pondering a new fic idea (and despairing because Josephine is so competent that she renders my central conflict moot the moment she appears on the scene) when the following popped into my head a refused to leave. I’m almost certain someone has done this before, but on the off chance they haven’t -
(To the tune of “What is This Feeling?” from Wicked)
DORIAN: Dearest Darlingest Felix and Maevaris
BULL: Fellow Ben-Hassrath Agents
BOTH: There’s been some confusion, over rooming here at Skyhold
BULL: But of course, I’ll do my duty
DORIAN: But of course, I’ll rise above it
BOTH: For I know that’s how you’d want me to respond. Yes, there’s been some confusion for you see, my room-mate is…
DORIAN: Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe…
BULL: A Vint.
(The rest of the song pretty much continues as originally written)
The Inquisition party members react to Iron Bull's "I. Will. Conquer. YOU." Line to Dorian:
Sera:
Blackwall:
Varric:
Solas and Vivienne:
Cassandra:
Cole:
F! Inquisitor:
And finally, Dorian himself:

Had Hozier lived in Thedas, perhaps he would have written a song for blood mages in love, beneath the Chantry’s watchful gaze. A cover of "Take Me To Church" for the Dragon Age series.
Original Song: “Take Me To Church” by Hozier Background Track: Michael Gaffney Lyrics and Cover: FeatherWriter
Lyrics
My lover’s not hurtful She’s a smile in the Circle Her rivalry or her approval Laid claim upon my soul If a Herald ever did speak She’s the Fade’s new mouthpiece Every spell draining ‘til I’m weak Cultivating her mystique Power’s our curse They say there’s none worse
Chantry offers no absolutes Tells us worship our tormenters The gilded cage that we’ve been sent to Disappears when I’m with you Pay your price quick Can barely feel it Enthralled beneath your spell
Amen, Amen, Amen
Sing me the chant I’ll howl like a dog with each dissonant chord I’ll smile as I burn, and you can sharpen your sword Take from me this lifeless life Oh, Maker, let this be my reward
Abominations of a new kind Don’t let them come to light Hold the secrets deep inside Paint your lips with perfect lies Forget what they teach Embrace the Fade’s reach
No more wasting our potential Bare your soul to the essential Why hold back if we’re able? Binding demons into faithful Let the veins bleed Raise a new creed Bless this holy work
(Chorus)
No passions or fear when the ritual begins There is no sweeter innocence than our desperate sin In the shadow and blood of that sad, fallen scene Only then I’m made human, only then I am clean
Amen, Amen, Amen
(Chorus)
Finally got done with this bit of my Super Sons animation ✌️ based on Superman #10 by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason
Varric Tethras as a character is wild. He calls everyone by a nickname. He writes trashy romance novels. He’s a prolific liar. His family got them kicked out of the dwarf kingdom for rigging dwarven Wrestlemania matches. He has fingers in literally every crime ring in Kirkwall. He lives in a pub. He named his weapon after his absent girlfriend with whom he has a restraining order. He denies his involvement in keeping the wizard police away from his friend’s illegal magic Urgent Care. He’s the mom of the friend group. And he does this all while being four feet tall
