Like Sideswipe, Hanley Riordan—codename ‘HotRod’ — was a blue-collar rabble-rouser who showed leadership capabilities before he was an Autobot, in which he ran his own gang (The Hounds of Ulster) and made life hell for Sentinel Prime in Belfast. (His affinity for fire was borne from the kindness of a nun tasked with guarding St. Brigid’s Perpetual Flame in Kildare who offered him shelter when he ran away from his sixth and final foster home).
