aaaaaaahh the differences between Arajin's lunch and Matakara's lunch.....
Arajin is eating a bento that his mother cooked (with LOVE), you can see noodles, meat and vegetables in it (it's a nutritious, healthy lunch)
Matakara is eating something he bought at a supermarket for more or less 1000 yen, there's mainly rice and meat in there (it can fill his stomach but it's not really "healthy")
Despite eating delicious homecooked food everyday, Arajin has been terrible to his mother (yelling at her, calling her "old hag" etc)
Despite having cheap food for lunch, Matakara doesn't complain or act rude to his loved ones
camilla & rosie from style savvy: styling star! i just think they're neat and gay
PLEASE SHARE!!! (this also applies to everyone who has any) i'd love to hear them <33
I like the idea that matakara can be clumsy or way too strong physically because it’s so funny to me. like that one gag where he crushes arajin is rent free in my mind. he's great at combat but he is the type of guy to fail at peeling a boiled egg (and also fail at cracking eggs- he'd get the shells in food, much to the chagrin of arajin.) matakara is the type of guy to accidentally crush someone in a tight hug.
...arajin is basically a reverse utena.
as a child utena loses all hope, but when she fails to save young anthy she vows to become a prince so she'll have the power to save her. after their meeting utena also forgets that anthy was her motivation for wanting to be a prince in the first place, only seeing her in a dream near the end of the series. meanwhile as a child arajin vows to become a honki person, but after being unable to save young matakara he loses all hope and abandons his dream. he tries to forget matakara but is constantly haunted by the memory of him, both in nightmares and whenever he sees someone he feels too weak to save in danger. they both draw power from spirits that follow them, to varying levels of seriousness. they both wear masks of masculinity, but utena wears hers to chase her past while arajin wears his to escape his past. utena is constantly chased by men who want to use her while arajin enthusiastically chases a girl who uses him. ara-chan and utena-sama. am i making any sense.
new top tier yuri dynamic just dropped 👀
i dont quite ship them but this is their dynamic to me
Part 2 of the Bucchigiri feature in spoon.2Di vol. 107
Spreads are read from right to left and include an story review of episodes 1-6, an interview with Mahoro's VA (Anna Nagase), and interviews with Marito and Outa's VA's (Nozomu Sasaki and Ryouta Takeuchi).
one of the main reasons arajin is a "bad friend" towards matakara for most of the series is because he knows matakara is the better person and he feels he can't offer him anything so he avoids connecting with him completely because he thinks that's what's best for them both
thinking about the majority western vs japanese reactions of bl fans to bucchigiri wherein there was more of a focus on the concept of arajin's "redemption" on the western side while the japanese side focused more on something like mutual "reconciliation"
Buddy needs a break ;;m;;
