modern architecture is nice and all, but it's growing so minimal, there's not much personality in the designs anymore. I'm speaking as an Iranian who has seen many, many different traditional architecture styles all over my own country.
in more central parts, there were beautiful, intricate stained glass windows. not only the stained glass, the woodcarving art used to make the window frames was just so beautiful. they on themselves provide the privacy necessary for a room and the colorful glasswork provides both beauty for the interior and soothing mental effects from color theories.
I'm not saying "modern architecture / minimal architecture bad." it's just that in my eyes, we're stripping away beauty and personality from buildings for both convenience and budget problems.
