HIS NAME IS Miya Osamu and he always looks like he has it all figured out. Comes in every class with his black hair perfectly tousled, the sleeves of his dark button-up rolled to his elbows, a cup of coffee in one hand and the strap of that black messenger bag in another.

“He drives a BMW, did ya know?” Isla says in your ear one morning. Your only friend in Food Chemistry I gives you a pointed look before sitting back in her chair in the lecture hall with a smirk on her face. “Saw it this morning. Bet he’s loaded.” The two of you watch the subject in question walk across the classroom and settle in his seat at the table in the corner.

“Shut up,” you whisper with wide eyes. A grin–– far from innocent–– makes its way onto your face. “Imagine being Miya Osamu’s sugar baby.”

“He’s not old enough to be a sugar daddy.” Isla looks at her nails disinterestedly. “And that’s too many AUs in one. He’s already the TA, for god’s sake. This isn’t some shitty Wattpad novel.”

Part 14 of "Back to the Future" AU

Castiel had fun messing with Dean of the past, but even he can't stop himself from getting soft seeing Dean barely scarred by life. The only scars on his soul were from hell, and it pains Castiel to know that those scars will be covered by even deeper ones in the coming years

So, when Castiel feels Dean will be taken back to where he belongs, he takes the younger hunter down to the lake near his home and lets himself be vulnerable again

A few stories are exchanged, not enough to rattle the timeline, just enough to make Dean smile and scoff in disbelief

It's a somber moment between them, Castiel can tell Dean is struggling to let himself relax. But it's nice.

But when Dean tells him he's changed, smiling all cheeky like a joke, Castiel is brought back to more than a decade in the past

"Don't ever change."

Castiel remembers the almost desperate tone Dean had spoken those words before passing it off as a jest

He remembers dying through Michael's spear, confessing how he has changed, and how he loves

He remembers a more personal, more vulnerable confession, his moment of true happiness, where he tells Dean of how the hunter has changed him

He remembers confessing his doubts about heaven, sitting on a separate bench from Dean

And in a flash, he's back in the present with a reminder of his past, and there's a dull ache behind his ribs that threatens to spill over, to confess more than what he should

unbeknownst to Dean, whose smile is more beautiful than the sunset

And Castiel can't help but smile back like he did all those years ago

"Don't ever change," Dean asked him

Castiel was never good at following orders

Dean will learn that soon enough

And Castiel hopes he will love him regardless of it

ps: wrote this in 15 mins cus my brain was overflowing pls forgive the messy writing my heart is just exploding right now.

🗝 kageyama immediately panics and asks you how he can fix it; he knows he’s a little clueless when it comes to relationships, but he didn’t think he was doing that badly until he saw the look of hurt in your eyes at your confession. when he started your relationship he told himself he’d go into it with no inhibitions— that he’d love you fully, opening up parts of himself he’s never exposed to anyone and letting you see the good, the bad, and the ugly. the truth is, though, he got lost somewhere along the way— he settled on “good enough” instead of the crazy kind of love he knew you deserved because he was afraid of getting hurt. there’s nothing he won’t do to save your relationship, and after a few cups of hot chocolate and a long conversation that stretches into the early hours of the morning, you’re getting off on the right foot again and you’re more than excited to see what the rest of your relationship has in store. he promises himself he’ll try harder for you, because your kind of love is worth it. 

🗝 oikawa doesn’t believe you and thinks you’re joking; in his mind, he’s the perfect lover— handsome, funny, smart, playful, teasing, the list goes on… but he failed to realize all of the little ways that love can fail. it isn’t black and white, not as easy as it sounds. you’d had a suspicion his previous partners never really asked for what they wanted, too grateful to just have him in their live and afraid of upsetting him. but you’re not afraid of hurting his ego, not if it means you can reach a deeper level with him— somewhere no one else has gone before. once he swallows his pride and actually listens to you, quieting the voices in his head that scream at him to run away because rejection hurts, he’s opening himself up more and admits his ego is just a defense mechanism. you talk things out for a few hours and once he understands how you feel, he’s wrapping you up in his arms and kissing you with a softness you’ve never felt from him before. “i’ll be better for you, baby, i might just need a little help along the way.”

🗝 atsumu suddenly feels like he’s not so alone; he’s always been convinced he loved you more— that he was the one who’d get broken up with eventually once you realized he was a little too clingy or a little too loud for your tastes. you were always so pretty and put together— so he dialed it back for you because he thought you were worth being a “better” version of himself. but ultimately he lost the light within himself that drew you to him in the first place, his playful smiles and cheesy jokes no longer filling the silent space of your bedroom at night as you two drifted off together. he’s honestly relieved when you say you’ve been unhappy, because he has too. he just wants to be himself, and now that he knows he won’t lose you because of it, he’s pulling you into him and kissing you a million times like he used to. it’s the affection and silliness you missed the most— and your heart practically bursts when he asks if you can go for ice cream later because you get so excited every time, and that’s when he thinks you’re the cutest.

🗝 osamu isn’t offended at all, he just wants to know how he can love you better; he’s always been a level-headed guy, calculating yet indifferent when it comes to things that don’t really matter. but you— you matter. he wants to give you everything in the world, he’d just been so busy with work and the restaurant that he’d forgotten how lonely it can feel falling asleep alone at night. you were always by his side when he needed you, but he wasn’t by yours, and it’s something he’s not quite sure he’ll forgive himself for right away. it’s a mature, quiet conversation that has you feeling like you two will be completely okay, because the way he listens makes you feel heard for the first time in a long time— and it occurs to you, all you really have to do is open up to osamu for him to try a little harder for you. you realize how truly perfect he is when you two make up and he’s immediately making your favorite dessert from scratch, just to spoil you a little. he acts like he’s over it but he holds you a little tigher that night, pulls you in a little closer, kisses you a little longer.

🗝 kita is dumbfounded and honestly feels guilty; he calmly asks you how he can be better and listens to every single word of your answer with tact. his grandma had always taught him to respect everyone, and love like there’s no tomorrow because there might not be. but with life getting in the way, he didn’t realize how lonely you were or the fact that he really was loving you from afar. the thing about kita is that he’s always known you were his whole world— the only person who made him think that maybe messes weren’t so messy, that things appearing neat were actually flawed and perfect. he’s in love with you and he knows all of the ways he wants to love you, he just has to remind himself to put them into action. he’s always caught up in the little things that, quite frankly, don’t matter all that much. its ok to be a little unorganized with love sometimes, and he realizes now more than ever that you were right— he hadn’t been loving you the way you deserved. but he’s going to try for you, because he knows he’s the man for you, he feels it in his heart just as much as you do.

AKAASHI

When Akaashi wanted to surprise you for your anniversary and take you to strawberry picking- running into his ex was not part of the plan.

You and Akaashi were squatting near the strawberry patches, enjoying each other’s company and trying to pick out the best berries. But he heard a familiar voice call out his name.

The two of you look up and you recognize the person as his ex. While Akaashi had never talked about her, early in your dating stages you were looking through his Instagram- specifically his tagged pictures (it’s a normal thing to do, okay?) and his ex still had him in some of her pictures.

You always thought she was extremely pretty, and you felt weird about the fact that someone like this was the person your boyfriend used to date. But you never worried- people were allowed to have exes and Akaashi always cherished you properly.

His ex introduced herself, being sure to include that she was Akaashi’s ex, and after you introduced yourself, she turned her attention to your boyfriend. Which was fine by you- you literally had no idea who this girl was really, and it made sense if she wanted to have a small catch-up chat with her ex.

You stood there, quite awkwardly. It would have been rude to just continue picking strawberries just in case she talked to you, but what else could you do? While Akaashi is vaguely telling her about how work is, he absentmindedly grabs your hand to hold, giving it a light squeeze. This does not go unnoticed by the ex.

Still not addressing you, she starts talking about the past and the fond memories she and Akaashi had while dating.

“Oh man, doesn’t thinking about it make you regret our mistakes and want to go back?” she chuckled. You were absolutely shocked she would say something like that, but Akaashi remained straight-faced.

“No, it doesn’t. Anyways, it’s a good thing you’re doing well, but Y/n and I are celebrating our anniversary, so if you excuse us..” he replies, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand before leading you away to another strawberry patch.

When the two of you are a distance away from the ex, he gives your hand another little squeeze.

“I’m sorry about that” he says softly, and you look at him confused.

“Why are you sorry?”

“Talking to my ex on our anniversary doesn’t really win me any points” he sighed, bending down to pick more strawberries.

“Yeah but that was out of your control. But... she’s very attractive...” you say, feeling your voice falter as you squat near him.

She was indeed very pretty, and on top of that she had an aura that just made you feel even more insecure. It seemed like she and Akaashi had some sort of good relationship- so why would they even break up.

“You’re definitely better looking Y/n, don’t be so modest.” but Akaashi still sensed that you were feeling unsure about yourself.

“...Plus, you wouldn’t cheat on me, making you lightyears ahead of her. So please don’t you dare think otherwise.” he says, leaning in to give you another kiss.

Akaashi honestly didn’t want to bring up the cheating thing- not because he was still hurt about it. He was over everything in the past and really didn’t want to bother having it resurface. But he wanted to do anything he could to reassure you, so he kept doing so.

“It’s not that big of a deal anymore- I've completely moved on from it. I feel absolutely nothing towards her and the only thing I regret is not dating you sooner.. I love you Y/n” he softly says to you, adding another strawberry to the basket.

You give him a shy nod, replying back with, “I love you too Keiji”

“Oh hey- you’re as red as these berries Y/n” Akaashi points out, causing you to blush even harder.

Akaashi really knew all the right things to say, didn’t he?

OSAMU

You know, running into your boyfriend’s ex while on a date is a very awkward experience. You and Osamu were at the amusement park, and his ex (along with her friends) had noticed him. Their clamor caught his attention and that led to where you were now: watching him chat with his ex.

It was terribly awkward- you didn’t know his ex so you were just standing there, listening in on the conversation. In the background, you could see her friends talking amongst themselves, occasionally looking over towards you- and you just hope they were saying nice things.

But you couldn’t fault his ex- she seemed really friendly and didn’t seem to shade you in any way. Still, the way she looked at Osamu was enough to make you a bit nervous.

“Anyways, I should get back to my friends now! We should catch up more ‘Samu!” she smiled, and hearing her call your boyfriend that gave you a feeling of unease. You didn’t want to feel jealous- but his ex-girlfriend seemed extremely sweet and was pretty, you honestly couldn’t help it.

“Uh, I think ya should just call me Miya” Osamu replied, not even entertaining the idea that the two could meet up again.

“I can’t call you by your last name because then how am I supposed to address ‘Tsumu!” she giggles. But your boyfriend remains as stoic as ever.

“He would also be preferred to be called Miya. Anyways, I’m gonna get back to my date now” he says, and his ex, seemingly embarrassed, nods and goes back to her friends.

Then you felt a nudge to your side.

“Hey, you alright? Ya weren’t talking this entire time” Osamu asked, his soft gaze returned when he looked at you.

“Hmm? Oh yeah I am....” your voice trails but you keep your eyes locked on his ex’s retreating figure.

Osamu follows your gaze and sighs.

“Okay, spit it out Y/n, what’s wrong.” he asks, cupping your face so that you can only look at him.

“...Why did you guys break up? Like I don’t mean to be nosy- but sometimes breakups can be amicable, but your ex seemed kind of remorseful. Plus they seem so nice and they’re really pretty... I don’t know..” you choke out, trying not to let your insecurities get the best of you. But they were there.

“Ya think they’re pretty? Can’t say I see them the same way. Ya see, pretty people don’t cheat on their boyfriend with strangers” Osamu shrugs, and your eyes widen.

Never in a million years would you ever fathom the idea of being unfaithful, especially someone as wonderful as your boyfriend. So that’s why he broke up....

But still, even though hearing that was supposed to make you feel better- it really didn’t. Because at the end of the day regarding Osamu and his ex, Osamu was definitely the one that hurt more. Shouldn’t he be the one with longing feelings towards an ex? Oh dear.

Your brows furrow at the thought that Osamu might still love his ex, but knows that logically they can’t be together. That’s it, what if Osamu-

Before you’re even able to let yourself drown in uncertainty and doubt, Osamu breaks your train of thought with a kiss.

“Hey now- I know that look on yer face. Can ya please look at me?” he asks, cupping your face.

“Ya watch way too many dramas and read too many mangas, ya know that right? I don’t have any feelings for her, alright? Just because I used to date someone and they hurt me does not mean I would go back if I had the chance. Especially when I’m already with someone pretty amazing.”

Osamu presses another kiss to your lips and sighs.

“Sorry, I don’t want ya to get upset over nothing, alright?” he asks.

You nod back, hugging him tightly, “Alright ‘Samu”.
