honestly gerard wearing skirts and dresses is like the most genuinely amazing thing ever. like everybody talks about it which is good but I feel like nobody talks about how the outfits he wear are making statements on sexism and feminism and oppression etc
this is probably controversial in the mcr fandom but I think it's crazy that people sexualize him wearing dresses and skirts. like the whole point of these outfits are to show how these kinds of outfits are hypersexualized especially when men wear them.
like it's not socially ingrained or considered normal when men wear this stuff, and he's making a point that is SHOULD be normal. people sexualizing him wearing this kind of stuff is just proving the point that women or anything feminine is hypersexualized.
like, he's not getting called a faggot for doing any of this which is good but he's being sexualized for doing things that women usually do. it just shows that people just see sex appeal in feminine things.
