A non-exhaustive list of things from TMA that I was 100% certain were just fandom jokes before I actually listened to the podcast:

- The "Except for the vampires." "Yeah, obviously except for the vampires." exchange between Jon and Gerry.

- Mike Crew trapping a dude on a ladder forever.

- Jon asking Martin to gouge his eyes out and run away with him.

- Nikola Orsinov. Like, just in general.

- Elias being a pothead.

- Georgie being literally incapable of feeling fear.

- The bone apple teeth.

- The guy who married a bug.

The themes of Malevolent are:

1. Platonic love is just as powerful as romantic love

2. Choices matter, even when an outcome is inevitable

3. Daddy issues

i hope arthur arrives back in 1934 and it turns out he's carrying every plague from the 1200s and he ends up causing a mass outbreak

this was the most malevolent core malevolent episode ive ever had the honor of listening to. men are murdered. arthur gets chased around. arthur falls into a pit. arthur is sick and dying. john gives him a pep talk. they fight off a monster together. they confess their undying love. they are given a SIDE QUEST!!

i love how tma introduces canon vampires and immediately glosses over them. yeah we have vampires here. who the fuck even cares. we’ve got bigger fish to fry jonathan
