Yes to absolutely all of these ideas. Especially Lazaar v Frank, which I also often have on the brain š That would be a whoooole lot of fun š«
Whose your favorite Comfort character in Abigail? And why?
Joey! I just love that sheās so smart (and bloominā beautiful) and skilled and funny but also flawed. I find her relationship with Abigail fascinating and confusing and can never 100% work it out. Iām always pondering the fact she was spared by both Abigail and Lazaar. What weird vampire code of conduct is this?! I love her final WTF line in the film and the way Melissa Barrera delivers it and I think about that a lot. I wonder what on earth she did next after driving away (and will always hope thereās a sequel and sheās a vampire). And - of course - I love the idea of Lazaar falling for Joey⦠even though that doesnāt actually happen in the film (it really does in my mind š). Sheās a comfort character for me because there are so many things to wonder about her and I think Melissa Barrera absolutely smashed her portrayal. Soooo, not a very original answer from me, Iām afraid. How about you?
ā¬ļø MĆørck and Rachel Fan Scribbles (rushed and imperfect but tried to capture the feelz) based on some photo edits I did a while ago. The idea is that Carl and Rachel end up in a beachfront cafe after a windswept walk. The photo edits below are how it starts and the Procreate sketch above is where itās headingā¦
The (improbable) scenario rambled on a bit a lot so I put it on AO3. Still wondering what these two characters will be like; hoping theyāll lead us on a merry dance; still hoping for some sneak peeks from Netflix soon. āŗļø

Hurry up, Netflix. Please give us a peek of him!

mixed media fan-art-photo-faffing - just for fun
Dinner time?
Fan Art/photo faffing made with Procreate using screenshots from the film Abigail. Could still use a bit of work but you get the picture, hopefully. My head is full of vampires (again) following the release of The Black Bird Oracle š§ā¤ļø
Ooh, I like that angle. He would indeed have supreme self control. I tried to write some more. But he turned into MDCM again. (That man/creature/fictional-unattainable-wishlist-setter has a lot to answer for). Iāll try again. Or maybe just do two alternatives because who needs sleep anyway? š§ā¤ļøš©ø
Mood: Lazaar / languor
Refusing to do his vampire thing. And driving Ana to distraction. Imaginary, inexpert edits on an Abigail theme.
Wrote a little bit to go with these on AO3. It waffles. Itās undercooked or overcooked. A bit much or not enough. Canāt really decide. But - happily - itās just for fun.
Edits above using Procreate āļø

Yep, Lazar. Still. š§āļøā¤ļø
Just chillinā with my favourite vamp in Procreate. This one is not a photo mashup, itās drawn from scratch using LHR brushes and the grid method, which is definitely the only thing I am capable of! Everything freehand just goes seriously out of whack.
The reference pictures are from @asgoodeasgold (for MG behind the scenes in Abigail) and Pinterest. Heās ended up with a slightly weird smirk but never mind. We live and learn. And maybe heās just smirking at Joey šā¦
Thank you for reading ā¤ļøš It completely lacks coherence - ārandom moments of disjointed daydreamingā might be a better description of it. But itās the process of writing thatās fun and valuable in terms of escapism, so Iām ok with a flawed product. Same with the edits and drawings. For me, Lazar is the perfect escape⦠as might be a teeny bit obvious? ā¤ļøš§š
Photo faffing on a Lazar theme for Friday night vampy vibes.

(Ana) ~ a daydream based on Ch 18 and 19 of The Visitor (AO3) - drawn in Procreate āļø
āļø Tonight Iāve been working on some digital drawing techniques and process learned from the @liliyth tutorials I did yesterday as well as trying out some of her brushes in Procreate. Iām not sure the finished result looks like Melissa in the end, but I was trying to capture the coy mood of the reference (swipe left and please let me know if you know who to credit for it - I found it on Pinterest and now canāt find the original source š¬). The brushes are ace and I am loving experimenting with liliythās process and style. BIG fan of hers.
Fan Art - Carl MĆørck - Department Q (using Procreate)
Carl MĆørck in his beautifully brooding glory. This Procreate sketch/paint tries to capture my love for this character, the amazing Department Q books and the beautiful Matthew Goode, who will be playing him on Netflix. Hurrah.
Based on a photo from the Hackett SS24 Campaign, as seen on @asgoodeasgold feed on Instagram. Sketched first and then faffed around with different brushes and effects. A MĆørck Metamorphosis, you might call it š Canāt wait for the Netflix series.
