Oh the secret was revealed in either chapter 146 or 147, it was the fact that he died and was revived by Akira using forbidden magic, Tooru was worried about what c3 might do if they found out Akira figured out how to revive the dead considering c3 was probably still researching the Servamp ritual.

He didn't want to risk c3 potentially hurting Mahiru

By the end of the story, does Mahiru realize that Touma is his father? This question pertains specifically to this narrative and not the re:servamp line.

i think the answer is absolutely yes. we see them sitting together having some kind of conversation. at the dinner table mahiru always longed to sit at with his father (im surprised they didn’t add that one panel of it in this scene but we get the point.) and touma being who he is blows smoke in his face cause he doesn’t really know how to act around him, it’s his kid after all and he knows it. tooru is still more or the father figure and always will be to mahiru but getting this closure with his actual father and getting to know each other and form a bond, all be it a love/hate kind is a perfect way to close out this chapter.

it feels like he’s finally being honest. no more tricks or gimmicks, it’s just him this time and that scares him. that panel is really one of my favorites out of the whole story cause it really shows that a development occurred. i love that they didn’t just do it where everything is back to normal and he’s still his mask wearing self. i’m glad it’s different, the mask is off and he’s learning who was underneath it all this time. and perfectly so mahiru is there waiting patiently and looking on expectingly. raaaa i love this.

yeah i noticed that. although ive been in this fandom on tumblr for literal years i only have like 3 posts cause my stupid ass keeps deleting everything and starting over cause i hate my art smh. (wont happen again) but trust i’ve been here forever and i understand the criticism but i just don’t care. i was 14-15 when i started in the fandom and am now 19 and with a (somewhat) better art style so i wanna draw and express stuff in this community as a bigger figure, i always wanted to be a big part of a community and this is it so i will continue as i am and if you don’t fw it don’t worry! just ignore me haha. for the rest of you ily and i hope you continue to support me.

It's such a shame that cigarettes and smoking is so hot yet so so unhealthy and how the smell clings.

Oh my god REAL. The visuals can go so hard but it's so not worth it. The clouds and wisps of smoke can be so mesmerising and seeing how some people playing around with the clouds like magic is extremely eye catching!

But also if I ever started smoking and got caught, I'm like 100% sure I'd have to fistfight my dad and that is a battle I would NOT win.

In regards to Mahiru smoking, it is hot, yes, but also EXTREMELY worrying because. Well. It's Shirota Mahiru. That kind of stuff would definitely affect him in a way that's noticable to the people around him.

Like sure, he'd absolutely be respectful of the people around him and only ever smoke on the balcony when the clothesline doesn't have anything drying that could pick up the smell, but he would NOT get away with it.

If not Tooru, if not Kuro, if not Sakuya or Tsubaki or Ryuusei and Koyuki-- then even Licht is going to step in.

Or more like the angel is going to kick the damn thing out of his hands and stare that boy down so hard he starts sweating. Talking about how Some Demonic Force Is Trying To Corrupt The Angel-In-Training He's Taken Under His Wing. So obviously if no one else is making him stop then he will.

Also semi-off topic but the idea of someone taking a drag, grabbing ur face and blowing the smoke into your mouth is one of the things that Really Gets Me that I do not see very often when I see actors/characters smoking around other characters they have The Tension with. You see them blowing smoke into peoples faces as a deterent or insult but never straight into the mouth, and as a flirt. I need more of that please. I saw someone animate that in a random animatic that I've since lost (I cry) and it activated a neuron for me. I wrote a lil ficlet about Human!Sloth doing that to Mahiru once.

I am, actually! Although it has been very slow progress because I'm no longer in school and there's nothing justify using art as a distraction anymore right now lmao.
