I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.

Well - she got this email this morning:

The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.

Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).

Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.

Yk how in episode seven the disc intro thing changes to ekko and power which is a nice nod to the fact that they're in an alternate timeline but also that they're lovers and soulmates. Which means- normally we see vi and jinx disc which should also mean that they're lovers and soulmates that are just doomed, in this essay I will—

I love how Jinx enters the battle for the Hexgate right after Ambessa’s smug “Still a fox” line to Mel. The implication being “you’re not a wolf so you don’t have what it takes to beat me.”

And then Jinx flies in and starts rolling over Ambessa’s army on a balloon….with bunny ears on it.

Jinx said “hey fuck your animal metaphors get wrecked by a rabbit, bitch.”
