You guys don't understand how much I hate Delpad.

I'm about to go on a rant here so buckle up.

It's such a bland ship, I find it to be unoriginal and uninspired. Not to mention it takes away queer representation, with Della and Penumbra being considerably a canon relationship/implied. And it's not like I think Donpad is the only good Launchpad ship, there are tons of amazing ones!! But Delpad does not fall under that radar.

Della originally started out hating Launchpad. Now, that isn't to say their friendship isn't cute, but it certainly would not spand past that in such a short amount of time.

While the only thing Launchpad and Della have in common is being pilots, Donald and Launchpad have way more in common than you would think, with some of Donald's original versions having dreams of being a pilot, and over all sharing a similar personality with Launchpad as well sharing similar struggles, (EXAMPLE: underappreciated, see as stupid/uneducated and over all treated like a burden) As Launchpad also has much more in common with drake or Fenton

What I'm saying is that to me, this ship is bland. I can understand why people might find them cute, but I still hate it with a full heart. It's bland, and unoriginal. I'm sorry.

I actually really like this pairing lol but leave it to me to pick the rare pair that nobody knows about. My opp is drakepad I grew up with both shows but I vibe more with DuckTales & I don't think LP has any business starting another family with Darkwing like why is he there

My second opp is the 2017 DuckTales. Unfortunately, I am a bit of a purist and everything, everything,, is so much different than the original. Not even close. I don't like how high pitched Scrooge's voice is, I don't like how LP sounds like Markiplier, I don't like how the kids don't sound like baby Donald's, I don't like how Donald has a normal voice, I don't like Webby's personality, I don't like any of their personalities, I don't like how they dumbified LP (he's ditzy, not dumb there's a difference I swear :'(..), I don't like how their scleras aren't blue, I don't like that Donald's outfit isn't blue, I don't like how this show feels like even more of a kids show than the original, etc...

The lore goes crazy though I've been eating that up very cutesy like. Very demure. I know that most people won't vibe with this take. I'm just hoping beyond hope that someone with insanely specific taste like me will find me and we'll fall in love and share a bank account and collect Megan Thee Stallion merch together and watch Caseoh before bed every night.

i'm also taking this ask to talk about a related headcanon for hickory i lean into.

like, the picture i wanna paint with him (the cliff-scaling hooves, the smidge-like strength, the crazy competency with tools and whatnot) is one where all the elements are working together to hide something he's compensating for;

hickory has brittle/sickly troll hair.

roll with me; we don't see him use his hair for anything, right? he doesn't leverage it when building the raft, or when attempting to fight chaz, or the funk bubble. and even though growly pete uses his hair like a lasso, hickory employs actual rope for it.

ergo! weak troll hair.

he can barely stretch it, it hurts when he does, and it's more likely to rip out of his scalp than pull something else in.

this is a closely guarded secret in the bounty hunting world. he's told very few people, and trusts even fewer to touch it.
