Secret to how to get better ;) Alright, a lot of people have messaged/noted/dm'ed me on how to get better, and really, this is how I got better. I also have a list of books I recommend on my deviant art journal. Now this advice is for any art that needs good draftsmanship. This includes anime, so don’t think you don’t need this just because you just want to do stylized artwork. Understanding how things work in reality gives you the tools to bend it in a way that won’t look strange and broken, because you then know how much to push the style without breaking it. Also, style is normally developed, not by blindly copying one artist you like. I started getting serious by studying anatomy books, observing and studying artists I liked, and did master studies. I copied them for practice, no tracing, no grids, and digitally, only eye-drop colours to study which combination and saturation they used. Copy a whole anatomy book and I bet you’ll get better. When I got to a decent level, I upped the ante and started going to life drawing. I would go to open life-drawing sessions at least 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week in my first and second year of college, and when I wasn’t life drawing I was doing art for homework, drawing personal art or just doodling. I’d carry a small sketchbook with me everywhere. If I sat down at a restaurant with my family and we were waiting for food, I’d sketch; if I went on the subway or bus, I’d be that creepy person staring at people and sketching them lol; and sometimes I’d go to the cafe to sketch people (aka Cafe-sketching). Some people find it more fun to sketch with a bunch of friends. I also memorized about 100 bone names and how to draw their front, side and back, and which one is which; I also memorized about 200 different muscles and which bone it was attached from and where it’s attached to, and where to draw them on a life-drawing model. Most of those are good for understanding where the exterior landmarks of the bodies are. There was a whole summer where I went to the zoo every day to draw animals. (I have friends who went for longer but animals really weren’t my focus) And remember, this isn’t a race. Just have fun alternating between studying and doodling your own stuff. Art blocks are a great chance to just practice. Wow, if you got through all of that, here’s a cookie 🍪

Hey everyone, so for those who knew me by my other blog, this is a new one! and here’s some explanation of why I deleted it and for those who felt worried about me.
Basically, I was just simply and mentally deteriorated by this place and felt incredibly pressured and just not well whatsoever engaging in fandoms I’ve thought it would be best to restart and repost my art again if possible.

Jim didn't know how Freddie could do it, how he managed the different sides that people got to see. He was just glad this side was one that only he got to see.
Freddie, stretched out peacefully in the garden with nothing on other than one of Jim's shirts, and even that was unbuttoned. He and Jim had spent the day outside together naked, because Freddie insisted on the aesthetic.
Currently, the man was laying slightly curled on his side, eyes closed as Jim sat across from him. Jim thought he looked like a fairytale creature that he mustn't disturb. His lover looked so soft and precious while asleep, a smile from a dream showing his adorable teeth.
Jim observed him, adoring every little unconcious twitch Freddie made. A little nose snuffle here, a finger moving there. The singer looked unguarded as he would ever be. Even when he woke up in Jim's arms, there would be some guard up that he wanted to pull down again.
Eventually, his control didn't last and he crawled to Fred's body, stopping before he reached him. He couldn't decide which part he wanted to touch. This was a rare moment and if he was sure Freddie would be asleep the entire time, he'd take hours to just feel his lover's body.
Jim slowly trailed one hand over Freddie's side, fingers lightly stroking before moving over his chest and stomach, while his other hand came to stroke his hair. It always amazed Jim by how soft his hair was.
He leaned down to press a kiss to Freddie's forehead, and just before he pulled away, he heard the soft voice as a gentle hand clasped his wrist.
"Darling..."
Freddie said the word with a sort of breathless awe, and when Jim looked down, he saw those big, brown eyes looking so vulnerable and open.
"Freddie..." he replied, just as quiet. The named shuddered as his other hand came up to hold Jim's free hand.
"Say it again.", he pleaded, holding eye contact with the other man.
"Freddie."
"My real name." Freddie whispered.
"Farrokh...", Jim whispered back, squeezing the hand he has twined with his lover's. Looking at Freddie's eyes, he could see teary joy in their warmth.
Fred's smile reached his eyes, Jim decided, after seeing the unbridled joy in his face at hearing Jim say his name. That beautiful smile he didn't try to hide this time.
Jim only had to look to his right to find the words to describe Freddie in that moment as he took him into his arms and told him how precious he was.
Soft and vulnerable as a rose petal, indeed.

It was on a sunny afternoon that Jim finds him. He notices someone hidden in the hedges of the garden: it was a beautiful boy, with black hair and sun-kissed skin. He wore a crown of flowers on his head and had a feline gaze.
