As An Athenian Myself, I Feel Scared Too. Like I Live Near The Port Of Pireaus As Well So During The

As an Athenian myself, I feel scared too. Like I live near the port of Pireaus as well so during the summer its a fucking nightmare. Nobody deserves a drivers license here-Like I have never felt safe in a car.

completely random observation/recollection: Italians, specifically the ones living in Rome, were the least likely to follow traffic laws and yet also the least likely to have a wreck. like I'm dead serious, as far as skill goes, the Romans were easily the best drivers I've ever seen. WILDLY reckless and illegal, but in four months no one ever came close to hitting me even when I was being a fucking idiot.

meanwhile I was in Paris for an hour tops when someone nearly killed me as I was using the crosswalk while it was my turn to walk. then I saw a fenderbender happen down the street as one car very very veeeeery slowly tried to parallel park and just like methodically plowed into another car lmaoooo

Berlin's drivers were perfectly courteous and lawful, and never came close to hitting me even when I was being stupid (and they seemed to appreciate my pantomimed apologies, ty). The exception was one dude determined to drive his fucking Lamborghini or whatever it was despite being drunk off his ass; he was deeply offended that the police would take issue with this and was, for some reason, yelling "Do you know who I am?!" in heavily accented and slurred English. I have no idea why English was the chosen language here but I presume he was not local.

The Athenians... they scare me.

I want to continue my “rant” about weird deaths in hetalia. Greece has died from chemicals but in a weird way, there used to be a prince of Greece in WW1 that loved wearing colourful socks, back then they used certain chemicals that if they go in your bloodstream you will die. So he went to the zoo and a fucking monkey bit him on his ankle and the chemicals went in him and died. Now that I am talking about ww1 there used to be a syphillis(how tf do you write that?)pandemic, so the government of every nation thought if they should or shouldn’t give condoms to their soldiers. Most did bc they knew that the soldiers would have sex despite told not to but the British decided not to do that. Yeah well 27% of Canadian soldiers caught syphillis, not bc they wanted to leave the war(that’s why other people caught syphillis, just to escape)but bc they wanted to have sex. Canada definitely caught an STD in ww1 but has kept it a secret. Also just found out that 2 presidents of France have died from a stroke during sex. Goddamn it France.

I'm back, somewhat. I didn't post for a long time because I have been busy with school and I had no clue what to post. It isn't like I have many ideas now, but Whatever! I have been silent for so long, so why not bring it back now?

I keep on forgetting that the first Olympics were in hetalia, but there are some weird ass stuff that have happened at the Olympics. For instance, the marathon in St. Louis (1904? I can’t search rn but I will later) there were so many people that died and one guy took a car and won but then he was disqualified. But in the first Olympics there was this one Greek who managed to win but he wasn’t even trained to run a marathon, he was just a water bearer who wore Traditional Greek clothes (wooden shoes and about 20 kilos amount of clothes) and I would really love to see the characters reaction to this. Or maybe when an Australian won a medal in Winter Olympics games because everyone else fell down.

I have been thinking, what would Greece’s and Egypt’s relations would be? During the revolutionary war of Greece one of the reasons it took so long was bc of Egypt’s fucking army destroying the Greek army bc they were trained by the French. So would they be close friends bc of the good relations in real life now or would Greece have hidden hatred for him bc of that?

One thing I would like to see in Hetalia would be the raisin dispute between France and Greece. Back in the mid 1800s both countries made lots of raisins. However, France got hit with a fucking blight in the crops and couldn’t grow any, so they couldn’t sell it.So the Greeks decided to DESTROY EVERY OTHER TREE AND PLANTS THEY HAD TO PUT PLANTS TO MAKE RAISINS TO MAKE PROFIT. It worked for some years, I think, but then France got rid of the blight and was able to make raisins again so no one bought the Greek raisins and lots of people became homeless and poor. I Headcanons that even though Greece and France are good friends they fight for the best raisins to this day(Greece starts them).

I imagine Russia being the most awkward person in hetalia, especially during the USSR when Stalin was in rule. Russia himself gives off awkward vibe, but oh boy Stalin was notorious for being like this all the time. For example he one time stood up, no one else did, felt embarrassed, sat down again.

When and Where would nations be “born”? Like we know that Egypt was born in 3000bc and in Ancient Egypt. But I don’t think we know anyone else. I Head-canon that Greece was born during the Hellenistic period, due to all of the Greek lands uniting (Literally all except for Sparta) with the “help” of Phillip II and Alexander the Great.I feel like it would be ironic if he was born in Lacedaemonia (Sparta), even though he is more philosophical and a lover of history in Canon, but he would most likely be born in Athens bc of said reasons. Would France be born in Gaul or in the Franks? There are a lot more people I would want to question but idk history of a lot of nations

So, I was doing some research on Greek tragedies, and I found out about this Tragedy called Oresteia (Ορέστεια). I managed to learn about something that happened in 1903. This event is called Ορεστειακά. To sum up, Greece had 2 official languages at the time Δημοτική ( the Greek we speak now) and Καθαρεύουσα(A weird mix of ancient and modern Greek), there was this one professor who translated this tragedy from ancient to Modern greek but The second one. So this caused a huge dilemma in Athens and so People fought one another causing two deaths. This also happened before but I’ll explain later. So now my head is thinking about how Greece would be affected by this. Like would he have a headache? Maybe just a paper cut idk.
