my funny little guy cas

cas is a little gremlin who also so happens to be a harpy/demon and ive always tried to make his demon form eldritch. it ended up a bit more chicken-esqe and his body shape always bothered me

buuuuuut work really makes you wanna draw (and the danny phantom phandom has such kickass art and ghost designs) soooo he changed a bit (:

i tried to make him less "human" in the sense that he doesnt have the usual eye style and feels more feral than anthro. ill be messing around more with headshots and poses but i wanted to ramble n get this out

i wanted to share the sheer difference between the art of my old Venturiantale fic (Elka Highschool/The Binder) throughout the years!

the first is from the start of the original story, written when i was in middle school! i'd estimate it to have been in the spring of 2015 based on the release dates of the Venturiantale FNAF videos and Samgladiator's yandere high school Minecraft rp. i drew every single chapter "cover" on lined paper despite the fact that i absolutely had sketchbooks i could've used. maybe it was easier to use what was accessible at school. who knows? i sure don't remember lol

the second is from the beginning of the not-so-little project i started up in July of 2021, where i transcribed the entirety of Elka Highschool into a proper document before time wore away at its old pages! it was also when i would redraw all of the included art of the OG story, though often with changes to improve composition and supplement the story, rather than the excessive violence and blood i prefered in EHS. it's honestly not terrible! i love it for the angst factor i've yet to shed (:

the third is of course from the current chapter of my newest project for EHS, Bindertales, in which i'm trying to rewrite the story without losing the primary plot! this isn't an exact redraw (which i may go back and do anyways as i love this sort of cheesey setup) but is me doing my best to learn better composition and framing! this one is from November of 2024 and makes me quite proud of how far i've grown since the start of this whole mess.

this is all just a nostalgic ramble no one will read, but i wanted to share it in case anyone's like me and enjoys seeing artists develop over years of practice!! never stop creating :D

some more fun character appearances (and one not fun ._.)! jeff the killer, sonic.exe, toothless from httyd, and tigerstar! the... unwanted guest... is only here because my friend Loki won a mini contest i held to name the comic, back when i just called it The Binder 2: Electric Boogaloo. their prize was to get to pick a pop culture character that'll be a recurring bg fella and of course they chose homestuck lol

all love to homestuck fans, it's all poking in good fun, y'all are valid and so are your interests (:

this is also the last of the pages to have dialogue entirely hand-written cuz i realized my chicken scratch isn't ideal for every character to use lol

the next set of pages 5-8 (: chapter 1 is officially done at this point, but just in case i fall behind, i'll be uploading monthly (the rate which each batch is made anyways), so the next couple batches are already prepared!

of note this time, a reminder that this story was originally heavily based on Venturiantale lore. characters like Sally and her relationship with Slenderman are from their canon, but I am adjusting things a tad. ive found it such painful cringe and ooc to keep the real Slenderman character, so instead a Slendy kinnie ^^

the character of Whispy was my friend's sona that has gradually just become my own character since she's adopted a different one as of recent. she's actually the origin of my FNaF OC Alpha!

also!! im really trying to put more focus on backgrounds and having fun with bg characters, so i hope they'll keep improving as i go!

a couple of the bg characters are recurring from the OG story, others are just fun furr-ified characters i'd probably have included if i wrote it nowadays :D none are made too obnoxiously obvious, but my favorites are Jay Merrik (Marble Hornets) and Bon Bon + Bonnet (FNaF SB)

i really haven't changed much since the original creation of The Binder, i still crave angst and violence lol. at least i now have the sense to make it tasteful and only when necessary. i think.

the text and the hand-written text are intended, Cas is just a bit quirked up :)c

Stardust the African Wild Dog!!

At long last, I can proudly present my newest partial fursuit, Stardust! He/they, an African Wild Dog, but from space! He was heavily inspired by Steven Universe, but also was originally created by Camden on ChickenSmoothie. I made the suit myself, though the paws were made from a template bought from the amazing YBL suits.

See the pink and white on the paws? It's meant to represent dots and dashes in Morse code spelling out "CQ," meaning an outgoing call to everyone. Stardust is a friendly spacefarer always looking to make friends, so I thought it fitting! The freckles on his muzzle, too, are laid out to be constellations! (Though I forget which, it was a design choice set early on and it has been MONTHS since then lol)

This weekend, I got to debut him at Renaissance Faire and meet some other lovely furs, whose suits were all so adorable!! (If you were one of the four fine folks I met and would like to be tagged here, please let me know (: ) Also went with my friends Rae and Crow (The plague doctor shown ofc) who were absolutely the best <3

The day we went it was pouring for most of the morning, so apoligies if Stardust looks a bit soggy. Gotta say, though, I didn't feel the least bit damp with the head and my hands, so kudos to that Amazon luxury shag lol.
