afterwards bill gets a shorter hat (no need for subduction hat anymore) he also got a fancy bow that similar to a butterfly. He’s got bracelets and stuff for aesthetics but lore wise maybe to help contain the unstable elements of his powers. (wooo au lore)

What is a Big Bang, Anyway?

The First Big Bang

Big Bangs are an ooooold fandom tradition, dating back to the bygone times of 2005, when the very first Big Bang was banged. 

The original Bang, the “Big Bang, Baby Challenge”, was invitation only, and the minimum word count was 50,000 words! The goal was to create a huge influx of novel-length, illustrated fics for the fandom.

Other people thought this was a really neat idea, so they started hosting their own Bangs.

Banging in the Modern Age

Big Bangs today are a little different. They’re usually open-invitation, and the minimum word counts are often much shorter (ours last year was only 10K, and this year it’s 15K!)

But the goal is the same: to create a massive influx of new, illustrated longfics in the fandom, which drops all at once with a BANG. 

There are also Reverse Big Bangs, where artists create their pieces first, and writers make fics for them!

How to Bang

Everyone who’s interested signs up .

Fic writers and fanartists are paired together to collaborate!

The ficcer writes a fic that meets the word count and kicks ass.

The artist creates the required number of illustrations for it, which ALSO kick ass.

Everyone posts their fic and art all at the same time, creating an EXPLOSION of new kickass content

Everyone profits- even the people who didn’t participate!

The TF Big Bang produced 63 fics, 91 illustrations, and over 1.3 million new words for Transformers fandom.

This year we hope to be even Bigger and Bangier.

Here is some concept art I’ve started on for my Bill design

I drew him with a fancy bow that is supposed to look similar to a butterfly (I will probably change it) I also gave him a small hat due to lore reasons :> such as he as shorter hat due to not feeling the reason of the seduction hat (book of bill refrence) and basically not caring as much about flattering people, hence more basic hat I drew him interacting with cannon bill

GUYSSS I caved and started making an au 😭

it’s going to be very happy silly with totally no underlying hidden angst. it’s going to be pretty similar to cannon until it’s not >:)

Still workshopping the name but my main idea is the name. The Situational Constructed Awareness Of The Butterfly Effect. (SCABE) Or the Butterfly Concept AU, very lengthy name yes, but I do not care because I am cringe but I am free

The idea of the AU is that the little change of the characters being more aware of their actions makes a really big butterfly effect in the plot. Things that will be featured are:

Ford being aware that Stan being kicked out was wrong, that he can be a jerk, Bill is a red flag, he loves his family, but overall that he has an impact on the world and vice versa.

Stan realizing the way was treated growing up is not his fault, that help exists and he is not alone.

Bill acknowledges that he killed his dimension, that he does not have to restart to violence, there are better things in life than power, he can be loved.

I will be making art of this soon, posting ideas and maybe maybe even some written stuff.

This AU is loosely inspired by ones such as Lost on Earth, Mr.Bill Pines, Euclydia Found, Handyman Bill, Diety Bill, Copium and Timestuck

Why do I have a sword, tiny kangaroo and a horse. I have no idea, inspiration struck and I am on a mission.

Its called A Bad Influence By Marfacat. It’s currently at 64,750 words. This fic is without a doubt in my top 10 favorite fics. It’s got angst, fluff, memes and drama, all the great things of transformers.

Here’s the description

Starscream, in a fit of madness, loneliness, and probably also slight starvation, decides to make a tumblr blog. It’s all downhill from there. (AU beginning at the end of season one, when he’s being a hermit.)

I won’t go to far into detail so I don’t spoil it but basically StarScream snatches a kid he talked to on tumblr and adopts them. It’s a pretty great fic.
