I recently colorized this c. 1910 photo of Magnus Hirschfeld's 4th, 6th, and 7th patients. They were three of the first trans men to receive medical care/legal support in Germany. I can't help but appreciate their dapper sense of fashion.
cw: animal death, animal sickness
Rory, my beautiful sweet baby boy of almost 13 years, died last night. He got out of the apartment somehow and I found him in the grass a street over from us. There were no signs of anything violent happening to him, so he must have gotten into something toxic. It had only been a few hours since everyone in the house had last seen him.
I am utterly devastated. Rory had been with me through five moves and several traumatic experiences. He meant the world to me.
This tragedy also struck the night I was literally waiting on bated breath for our paycheck to drop, because our dog, Hela, has been very sick for the past few days and we couldn't afford to take her to the vet until we got paid.
Hela appears to be in much better spirits today and after seeing the vet and getting medication for her, that anxiety is on the back burner for now.
Our main concern now is that fact that we are short on rent. The vet bill for Hela's needs and Rory's cremation just set us back by nearly $700 and we owe our landlord $1070. We're going to start getting $25 a day late fees tacked on if we aren't paid up by the 6th.
I'm running on about 2hrs of sleep right now and I haven't done much of anything today except cry or stare blankly at a wall. I'm pulling myself together long enough to put together this post, because no matter how badly I just want to curl up in a ball right now, I need to do something in order to keep the roof over our heads.

especially when it comes to women having facial hair there are a surprising amount of "feminists" who are just offended by the proposition that some women don't see their facial hair as tragic. Their feelings do not matter because every woman with facial hair should just wish it didn't exist and "automatically" separate themselves from whatever insults they use. You literally do not have a feminist argument to stand on with this. It is still body shaming and it is still bad.
litcherally at some point you've got to realize that assuming trans men don't know anything about misogyny is transphobic. a lot of transandrophobia from other queer people involves denying transmascs our transness by treating us like we are basically cis men, ignoring our unique experiences with things like misogyny & treating us with this aura of "since you're a MAN you are ignorant to WOMEN'S ISSUES 🙄 there's this thing called MISOGYNY that you should know about" & I know y'all would not treat a cis woman like this
i honestly don't think it gets talked enough about how gay men can have a very nuanced relationship with gender, complex genders, and "contradictory" identities a lot of the time. i think a identifying as a man only gets forced on to gay men a lot these days, but so many gays identify as nonbinary, transfem, women, bigender, genderfluid, genderqueer, gnc, a crossdresser, a lesbian, and many more things. i love you, gays with weird genders
Bathroom accessibility is not limited to mobility aids.
Bathroom accessibility is also having hooks to hang medical equipment.
I went to Walmart today and none of the bathroom stalls had hooks for my feeding tube backpack. Not even the disabled stall. They were intentionally removed by the store.
These hooks are important because we shouldn’t have to put our equipment on the floor and risk god knows what by contaminating our backpacks in the public bathroom.
Bathroom accessibility is having a fully equipped disabled stall or single use bathroom, hooks for medical equipment/bags, infant/child AND adult changing tables, sharps containers, free pads/tampons, and having a free to access, fully functioning and clean bathroom at all times.
Tbh I just straight up don't trust any cis person who sits around with their friends and talks about how gross other people's bodies are. If you can't accept that some men have small dicks or that some women aren't curvy I don't trust you to actually respect trans bodies
Maybe I'm weird for saying that but idk it's pretty isolating when it seems like cis bodies aren't even acceptable to so many people and my body is so much less acceptable by societies standards
Ok but like actually DNI if you support the death penalty. Yes there are people who deserve to die for their crimes. No there isn’t a court in existence that should be given the power to decide who those people are
new post bc i really need folks to stop spreading tactics that are going to get missourians killed.
attorney general bailey has set up a website where you can report “concerns” about transgender care.
bailey will take those entries as real stories and use them as fuel to come down even harder on transgender care in missouri. instead, do what we usually don’t do and spam the absolute shit out of it. vary your submissions so they can’t just filter out certain keywords. but DO NOT submit stories that could sound real, because bailey will present them as real.
here is the link.
