The fact that you were sitting across from them didn't stop your wife from making out with him in the restaurant.

She asked you to meet her at the cafe “to talk”. As soon as you sat down, it was the first thing she said to you, and it was a simple question.

But you were unable to answer. Her frank and to the point words sent a fresh wave of shame through you and reopened the wounds and the pain, causing you to resume the sobbing that preceded your coming to meet her. You wiped your tears and looked back up at your beautiful wife, only to see her little smile, which made it clear that there was not going to be any consoling or comforting, just mockery and a sort of triumphant attitude, and perhaps a little pity, but overall, it was obvious she was enjoying this.

There was no point in arguing either. You knew it was true- he had completely dominated you, humiliated you, broken you. He left you completely stripped of what little masculinity you possessed, and he did so right in front of her. The acceptance of this as a true fact somehow helped you calm down. You grabbed a napkin and wiped your nose and the tears, and looked back up at her again, and she was still waiting for your answer, demanding you to say it out loud. “It felt very bad,” you began tentatively, your voice quivering, “I love you…but I know I’m not… a man anymore. I guess I never really was a real man like him, and I understand- you deserve more… you should be with him.”

Her victory and your surrender were now complete. She reached forward and took your hands in hers, looked you in the eye and said “I’m glad we had this talk. Now I want you to be a good boy and tell him that okay? It’ll mean a lot to both of us for you to openly surrender me to him.”

Your suffering had only just begun.
