merry-go-round
Currently thinking about how Saiki got SO pissed about the bullies having beaten up Akechi that he pretty much blacked out and ended up destroying the classroom and hurting everybody in the room accidentally.
And how later, when Kaido and him were getting robbed, he just let it happen, and when they got the opening to run and Kaido got caught again and the thugs told him "you know we're going to beat up your friend, right?" he just kept running, fully willing to just get himself out of that situation.
Until Kaido expressed his relief that at least Saiki would be okay in his thoughts and he just... couldn't do it.
Like. He was trying SO hard not to care because last time he cared, his powers went out of control and he caused a disaster. And he's been in denial for so long about his friends being his friends because Akechi was his friend and his emotions got too compromised by that fact.
But he still couldn't do it, not when Kaido cared so sincerely about him.
He was willing to let Kaido find out about his powers right there and then to save him. And I cannot imagine the Akechi incident wasn't on his mind through the whole thing.
I think my favorite part of Death Note is how L and Light are on opposite sides of the autism spectrum, from unable to mask at all to masking so hard they're barely a real person
The thing about BBC Merlin is that it's really not very good but somehow at the same time...yes it is
