"Well, Hogwarts is a game of survival, each day is just a shot in the dark." Morcant rolled his eyes, bitterly thinking about the utter lack of order in that dump. "I hear there's centaurs around here, as well. I would really love to know more about their society and government structure. Do you think they have a democracy, or that is it more an anarchy? Anyway, I think they probably keep the acromantulas in check, their fangs would make fantastic weapons. At least that's what I would do if I was a centaur." He babbled, not really excited about the whole prospect of the ride. "I'm not entirely sure about the ride. Disfigurement by acromantulas doesn't fit my aesthetic for today."

"now riddle me this, all throughout the year we are literally forbidden to go into the forbidden forest and now we're just taking hayrides driven by creatures we can't see where the forest is probably full of more creatures we can't see! i know there's acromantulas in there! i've seen them in our textbook! it can't be safe — let's hitch a ride." the second she said it, mary was hopping on the cart with their hand out to help the other person in, if they dared.

"You know my mother loves you, right? Lady Astrid Nott definitely would be here, if she could." Morcant commented to his friend, after both of them settled in the comfortable french Bergère chairs. Between them, a matching table completed the set, with a porcelain tea set and little appetizers. "Things could be better, I guess. Father is being stubborn and choleric, but that's not news to anyone that knows him. Yes, I'm still unmarried, as I'm constantly reminded." He snorted, in a rare showcase of ungentlemanly, and sipped his steaming cup of tea. "How about you?"

Morcant: if you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what is one thing you absolutely have to resolve and/or do before then?

Call him crazy, but Morcant had his preparations in place for when he died. That's something only a few people knew about: how fucking paranoid he was. Underneath all the sweet smiles and good nature, there was a deeply neurotic and paranoid young man. He could try to say that it was a byproduct of the environment, but he didn't know how much truth there was in that statement. Elowen knew about it, she had his will in hand and his portrait hidden somewhere safe. He had letters for everyone he loved, telling what he thought they should be happy in his absence. That he loved them, and they should have a long, happy life. He wouldn't run desperately towards loved ones, making confessions that wouldn't have a tomorrow. Why would he tell Valerian and Bryrony that he loved them? He would die the next day, and there would be nothing to do. It wasn't fair to dump that on them and then die, they would have to live the rest of their lives with that in their conscience. Morcant wasn't a good person, but he wasn't about to condemn two people with a life filled with "what ifs". Things were better this way. Morcant was pathetic. Sobbing like that, just because his daddy sent him a letter in his birthday, telling he was a disappointment and that he didn't need to come back for the holidays. It was his fourteen year old birthday, he would never forget it. How Elowen hugged him as he sobbed, hidden from everyone else between Hogwart's endless bookshelves. "I hate him so much, El. I hate him, why did he have to do this? I hate him. Why can't he love us? What did we do wrong? Why am I such a disappointment?" Nobody would understand but his sister, the bittersweet feeling. Satisfaction for screaming at his father, resentment for never quite getting over it. Glad about his mother's interference so things didn't escalate, miserable because she didn't move a finger to make things better. "Merlin, I hate him so much. Someday I'm gonna be so much better than him, and he's gonna choke. He won't be able to handle it and anger will consume him. Merlin, I hope he dies. I'm not sorry, I'm not. I know it makes me a bad person, but I don't care." Morcant has always been the best kind of liar. He even lies to himself. @nobelandloved

Did Gamon know what he was doing? Absolutely not. Was that a common occurrency? Maybe. Was it wrong to lurk on his ex-boyfriend's doorstep because you didn't want to face him again and your father asked you to buy potions supplies? Hell no, he was not a fucking coward.

The Gryffindor sighed, watching as the other man flipped the "OPEN" sign and marked the store as available to receive customers. Now he had no excuse to procrastinate. Great.

He walked to the door, pushing it open with a sigh and closing it behind him.

"Er... Hello. Morning. I'm here as a client... I mean, I have a list of ingredients." He said, fumbling while trying to take a crumpled piece of parchment out of his pocket. By Godric's polkadotted pants, could he be more awkward? Please, someone take him down with an entire Hit Wizard team. "Can you help me?"

Setting: Hexes and Jinxs Characters: Severus Snape & open

Severus Snape was not what many people would consider normal. He was far too skinny, too pale, too everything. No one was there to see the closed doors, to see the options close before your eyes. Yet he still lived; he kept going. He kept moving, growing, learning. He never could satisfy his hunger for knowledge, even now, as he returned to his shop on a lazy Sunday afternoon. His luggage was in one hand as he unlocked the door, happy to return.

Severus opened this shop two years ago and named it “Hexes and Jinxs.” It was his pride and joy that was the place he had had saved up for. This was his sanctuary, his home. In more ways than one, it had an apartment attached to the upper floor and a potion lab in the back. It was perfect. He used a simple spell to turn on the lights, humming a soft melody as he began to clean up. It had been a month since he had been in the shop now, and the dust annoyed him greatly. After spending a few minutes cleaning until he was satisfied, he put his luggage in the lab. He had planned to put it away later, but he instead started cleaning the lab. It didn’t take him too long to clean, mainly dusting off his supplies and checking his ingredients. Smiling once it was finished, he moved back to the front. Flipping the open sign, he started to check his stock, making sure everything was still okay.
