Almost didn't post this as it's just a WIP, but I'm not sure if I'll actually finish this and I like the body segments.
IceWings have a different body shape compared to NightWings. Hard
Lineart and coloring of Coil Drake skull anatomy. Coil Drakes, belong to a group of wyvernids defined by their serpent-like bodies and mobile maxilla called Snake Wyverns. All types of snake wyverns use their mobile maxilla as a means to process food, by moving their maxilla in an up and down motion to slice and crush their food. Coil drakes are unique among snake wyverns as they possess all four of their limbs compared to Lindwyrms who only have their arms remaining and Wyrms which have lost all their limbs. These drakes get their name for their long serpentine bodies and their habit to coil their bodies upon itself when resting.
Wyvernids are diapsids like all reptiles but aren't true reptiles. Belonging to a group of stem reptiles defined by the presence of two middle ear bones instead of the one of other reptiles and the three present in mammals. Allowing them to hear higher frequencies, around 30kHz compared to the 5kHz of reptiles, 10kHz of birds, and the over 50kHz most mammals can hear. Wyvernids are also defined by goethite nanofibers in their bones, like limpet teeth, making their bones the strongest seen in nature. The last distinction between Wyvernids and other reptiles is their lack of a cloaca, instead possessing a genital slit with their anus, and excretory organs all being separate openings in the genital slit.
Oh wow this design is very nice. I like how the hands look like hands, the feet look like feet, but they still look simple enough to draw
Darkstalker the Nightwing
You do color good. I like this
through the valley ššš
I always assumed boats were used for hauling cargo like large loads of fish or whale pieces. Keeping sharks away from them and maybe adding a top to keep the birds off
OK HEAR ME OUT:
it's cannon that dragons wear glasses, but, like, what about seawings? Obviously you can't wear glasses underwater. Do you think they have like- some super cool special glasses??? I don't think it was ever mentioned in the series, nor do we meet a seawing with glasses.
WELL, WHAT IF:
That's why boats exist! It is cannon that boats exist and are used by seawings. Maybe seawings who can't swim large distances underwater because they need glasses sail instead? IDK IT SEEMS COOL
BUT TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK I'M KINDA STUPID
Time for another request: Moonwatcher, suggested by @steve-the-dino! For this one I thought itād be fun to try drawing Moon in both my retro style and my ānormalā style with some of my own WoF headcanons. My style isnāt super consistent, so I took the opportunity to try out some new brushes and techniques.
Retro moon has been simplified a little since the last time I drew her. She no longer has spikes on her head, and the small line of spikes on her tail have been replaced with three large ones. I like to give her the same heart-shaped nose that I give Clearsight, and big, soft eyes. I think in a Bluth movie, sheād be portrayed as introverted, bashful, and kindāperhaps to a fault.
My personal Moon design looks a LOT different. Her colors are far less saturated, and I like to give her a bit of iridescence, as sheās said to be multicolored in the books. I also make the scales on her back very light as if sheās always being washed in moonlight. I like to think that NightWings look otherworldly compared to other tribes, so instead of horns, I give them an alien-looking crest. I think the next time I draw Moon Iām going to give her a lot more purple. A lot of people portray her as green because of the cover, but I think in the books she was described as purple and blue!
In both designs, I give Moon green eyes and bright silver scales. In retro drawings, Iād make her about the same size as the rest of the Jade Winglet, but otherwise I headcanon NightWings being one of the smaller tribes. Moon is bigger than the average NightWing in both height and build, since she grew up in the rainforest instead of on the volcano. Large, round shapes can portray both softness and strength, and while the former certainly applies to Moon, I think sheās physically quite adept as well.
wings of fire fandom did we all forget about the strange looking pre-scorching dragons because itās been over 2 years since TFOH and I have seen NO artwork nor headcannons about Freedomās mother / the first dragon queen
OH YEAH,
SHAPES! Love them. Reminds me of that savanna cat that jumps real high and eats guinea hens. Maybe I'm thinking of an ocelot, idk there was a WildCrats episode about them
but I'VE got a new OC!
IDK what to name him so feel free to give suggestions!
Stupid little frog came across my dash.
I will cherish hom
Please take good care of them!
Awesome art
āā¦these days itās more painful to be awake than to go through the process of dying againā
I like Wings of Fire and Cult of The Lamb. I like to animate and I'm still struggling to find my own art style
