Best friendship. Your Honor, I love them.
MorrowSeer and his wife Secretkeeper. I have an AU idea I'm working on where this couple both have the idea to hide their egg in the rainforest, at the persuasion of Mastermind of course
Explanation below the cut
MasterMind found a fragment of an old book referenceing the connection between the moon and the Nightwing powers. He did not dismiss this literature as a work of fiction because it was authored by a well known scientist of old about the possible connection between nutrition of the mother while laying the egg and the speed of the produced hatchling's development.
The article addressed both the physical and psychic development of the hatchling, acknowledging the small sample size of MoonBorn dragonets as a potential error in their research.
MoonBorn was a common term in the legends of powered Nightwings. Most assumed MoonBorn to be a name, perhaps the name of a powerful seer who predicted other seers hatching. But if it was instead a condition of hatching, could the powers of old be real?
Fewer and fewer Nightwings were being hatched each year. The selection of possible 'test subjects' was few, and the conditions on the island were all wrong.
The punishment for being caught were severe, BattleWinner did not view treason lightly. But the benefits... If his research was correct... He could be responsible for the hatching of the first seer in centuries.
He needed an egg, preferably willing parents, and an opportunity granted only to those most loyal to the queen.
A double moonlit sky was approaching, he had less than a year.
------------------
I'm still working on this concept. I want to explore a world where Secretkeeper and MorrowSeer have similar goals and ideas. Where Moon's abilities are a goal her parents tried to achieve. And where she is trained by both her mother and father.
I might retcon this later though. Perhaps MasterMind thought the moons would make the dragonet an Animus instead, and the mind reading and seer powers were an unexpected result. Perhaps the queen finds out about this plan before it's fully carried out. Perhaps the RainWings find the egg and take it with them to their hatchery. Who knows. I plan to make this a comic as a sort of art practice. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
Some faces of a skywing boy.
Something I've always been interested in is the wof constalations. They have different moons, a different sky. Do they have a Northern navigating star? Perhaps their maps point southward to a hidden pole because of this.
Legends and stories use the stars to explain our world. What stories do their skies tell?
My little wof OC Asterism.
Once you start thinking about humans as a species in a biome, it affects your entire way of looking at normal things.
The other day I referred to female morning joggers as an 'indicator species' in that if you see women jogging in the dark it means that the environment provides migration pathways (sidewalks, clear signs) and doesn't have any known predators of female morning joggers (guy with knife, bear, BigTruck, male morning joggers).
Though, I think that people consider framing humans as animals reacting to their environment as rude.
Mud/Rain OC concepts; based on my two fursonas
They were part of a clutch of five, but only two eggs hatched. Shoebill (right) was the bigwings. She hatched from a red egg.
Both pass fully as Mudwings, with their only give away being their frills, which they tell others are a rare mutation. They don't know their parents (and have no desire to seek them out) but deduced their hybrid status easily due to Margay's (left) color changing abilities. Only Queen Moorhen and a few other dragons know about this.
Both were soldiers for a time during the War until the Queen was made aware of their unique talents and they were eventually promoted to being diplomats and spies, taking advantage of Margay's camouflage to gain information, with Shoebill serving as her bodyguard and backup in case something were to go wrong.
Both are clever and highly educated. They're both extremely curious about the world in a way similar to Starflight or Cricket, but they're extremely reserved and refuse to show visible excitement.
My passion for this idea disappeared into thin air suddenly before I even finished coloring so these will probably be one of those "hey guys, check out my new oc!" *forgets about the character the very next day, never draws them again* type of situations. Thankfully I typed out their bio in a draft before my dopamine machine broke. Enjoy the art ig.
Had an idea for a wof comic from asha's POV for a while now, telling the story about how kestrel joined the talons of piece. Because i honestly always wondered why a character like kestrel would even bother with that, so maybe asha was the reason she did. It would also be fun to explore asha as a character beyond the 'kind motherly type'
Darkstalker redesign!
Finally I am free from Calculus and can do art.
Anyways the changes from my previous design are small but I think it will help with animating expressions.
Stupid little frog came across my dash.
I will cherish hom
Please take good care of them!
Had to draw this.
Due to the three tribes distinct genetic traits, some features override others. Appearing mostly Rainwing, Tuna is lanky and colorful. Both Sandwing and Seawing attributes made them more spiny and added a sail which snakes down their back, stopping before the tail. They have limited color changeing abilities, almost all dark colors they change to are more blue than black, and lighter colors always carry a yellow tint.
As for glow scales
They aren't specific to designated scales like they are for Seawings. Rather certain scales glow the brightest and are surrounded by a smattering of smaller and seemingly randomly placed scales.
@cindle-the-candle
I hope you enjoy them. I made them a little gender ambiguous so you could choose. Feel free to change any details you like.
Hypothetically, according to wof and real life stuff, you would mix a sandwing, rainwing, and sea wing, and name it tuna. or even like- any of those 3 mixed- A tun can be a fish or a catcus fruit. Idk, 1:32 am thoughts ig...I'm claiming tuna, the sea-rain-sand hybrid as my oc now. dunno if i should draw em (Considering i'm not great at dragons) but y'know, maybe.
I like Wings of Fire and Cult of The Lamb. I like to animate and I'm still struggling to find my own art style
