Synopsis
When Lidia Parn is attacked outside of her dorm, a series of events are set into motion. Faced with the reality that she isn’t quite human, and threatened by supernatural entities, Lidia must choose between her human and vampire sides. However, this choice becomes more complicated when she develops feelings for the vampire hunter who offers her a chance to remain human, and the vampire who saved her life. Will she embrace her powers or forsake her supernatural heritage?
“Lidia?” I turn towards him and startle, finding him much closer. He presses his lips to mine gently and I surprise myself with my lack of hesitation to return the kiss.
His fingers are cool on my skin as he threads them through my hair. My heart is thundering against my ribs.
“Are you sure this isn't a bad idea?” I ask.
“I'm sure that it is,” he says. “I'm having a hard time caring right now.”

George Washington:
"To many observers from the West, the miseries caused by Poland's incorporation into the Russian Empire were often thought to be essentially constitutional in nature. Since Russian Autocracy ran contrary to Poland's traditions, it was imagined that a few modifications in the form of government -- a few concessions to local autonomy, a few gestures in the direction of democratization -- would somehow eliminate Polish grievances. Hence, when Polish insurrections continued to occur in spite of the reforms of so-called 'liberal Tsars', western opinion tended to lose patience and to believe the Russian stereotype of the ungrateful, incorrigible, and anarchic Pole."
