Hide and sought

I knew the female police officer had seen me, but I ignored her calling out to me. I walked quickly across the sand, cursing myself that I, an internationally known fugitive jewel thief, had been spotted and recognized on this small, American beach.

“Sir,” she called. “Please stop.”

I broke into a run, glancing over to see how far back the officer was. I had put a good distance between us, but I certainly didn’t want to remain where she could see me. Moving quickly, I climbed a set of stairs leading to some beach houses, and I quickly made my way between two storage bins, crouched down, and moved another bin into the way, concealing myself.

I settled in, not sure how long I would have to hide. There was no telling how persistent that female officer would be, so I remained still, breathing shallow, trying to stay calm.

Suddenly the bin concealing my location was moved, and I remained crouched where I was, frozen in surprise.

It was a woman in bikini. She leaned on a nearby rail and regarded me, her remarkably fit body barely covered in her swimwear.

“I presume that police officer is looking for you,” she told me, her confidence unnerving. “Come out of there and lay down on your stomach.”

I regarded her from my knees, still in a hiding mindset. I was not a very strong person, and she looked beyond fit. I felt very nervous. 

“Please,” I said. “I can pay you. Don’t tell her I’m here.”

“I’m not going to tell her,” she said. “I’m going to take you to her. Out, at my feet, now!”

My heart sank. I could feel my will to resist drain out of me. I was captured and I knew it. I crawled pathetically out of my hiding place, on all fours before this stunning woman, and I laid down as she’d directed.

“Very good boy,” she mocked. “Hands behind your back.”

I obeyed, and felt her remarkable body straddling my back. She tied me up, fastening my wrists behind me with a zip tie she’d taken off a table nearby, and I knew I was helpless and captured. I was her prisoner!

“Too bad for you I saw you,” she mocked, pulling me to my feet. “I thought that was a pretty good hiding place once you were in it.”

I bowed my head as she led me back to the beach, a hot blush rising on my cheeks. My head and eyes were down, but I heard the female officer’s voice and knew it was all over for me.

“I see you found him,” the cop said as she approached. “I appreciate you bringing him to me.”

“My pleasure,” she said. “He’s all yours.”

The policewoman looked at me. “Mr. Creswell, it’s my pleasure to tell you, I have a warrant for your arrest and you are now in my custody.”
