It's him, the dapper man~

Heyo! For the one worded prompt, how about: relax with JJ? 💚💚

Curled up in bed, with a magic glow to protect him, Chase hums softly as he plays with JJ’s hair, pushing it out of his face and stroking it gently. Jameson’ chest slowly rises and falls, his mustache faintly twitching every now and then.

At least Jameson no longer cries or coughs. His fever has finally gone down and he can have small amounts of soup. 

The song Chase sings is an old Irish lullaby, one he would sing to his children to help them sleep at night. He faintly remembers it being about an old faerie legend, where a selkie’s voice could break hearts of stone.

Jameson’s eyelids flutter open. He turns sideways, acknowledging Chase. Chase smiles and gently pecks his forehead.

“How ya feeling, kiddo?” Chase whispers. JJ shrugs as well as he can and smiles.

“Schneep says your fever broke, so you should be back on your feet in no time,” Chase continues. Jameson wiggles his moustache contentedly, and closes his eyes again.

Chase can feel his own eyelids grow heavy, but there something catches his eye. A screen reads, [Thanks for looking after me. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.}

JJ has only just started learning how to use magic to make screens, this must be draining him.

“You don’t owe me a thing,” Chase said. “Just relax, JJ.” The vlogger kisses JJ’s head.

{Good night, Chase.]

“Good night, JJ.”

Fantasy Masks AU: Chapter Two

A JSE Fanfic

Oh wow, second chapter already? :O Yeah I was really excited to keep writing this. Fantasy is my element; I’ve returned home. After wandering out into the woods for so long, Chase wakes up in an unfamiliar location. Where is he? Who are these strange masked people who have found him? And what happened back in his village? Answers will follow, as we meet new people…including a couple boys that us readers will know :D

Chase woke up slowly, over the course of what had to be a few minutes. First, he was aware of weight, something pressing down on him. It was warm. And that felt really, really good. Because there was a coldness in his core that he couldn’t quite shake, sending chills across his skin. After the weight, sound came trickling in. There wasn’t much of it. Just some strange scratching sounds, and occasionally footsteps, which echoed. It was only after registering the echo that thoughts started to form. Where…where was he? How’d he get here? Last he remembered, he was…in the forest? It was dark. Was it nighttime? Chase found it hard to recall.

He finally opened his eyes. It was difficult; they felt weighed down. But he did it. And once his eyes were open, he saw…stone. Rough, natural stone, not stone bricks. The light was strong, but flickering. And completely unfamiliar.

Turning his head to the side was an effort, but he managed. He was on a bed, he recognized that much. With a few layers of blankets, including one made of fur on top. Again, completely unfamiliar. As was the rough stone room he found himself in. Some sort of cave…? But then why was there a bed in a cave? No, scratch that. There was a whole row of beds, he could see them extending to the side, along with a couple rickety wooden chairs. And, currently sitting down in one of those chairs, was a woman with a bird face.

“Wh…?” Chase tried to sit up, but the blankets were too heavy, and his body felt weak, so he gave up easily.

Jameson Jackson was born with blood on his hands, put there by one who was born the same. Jameson Jackson was born with silver strings pulled taut around his wrists, controlled by a master that he can’t remember. He can’t remember. But his brothers can’t forget. After they had collected their shivering little brother, Anti’s own demonstration of how far his power stretches, they all made a pact with one another. Not a single one of them would dare breathe a word of this to their dapper man. He didn’t deserve to carry the burden that had been thrust upon him mere minutes after his creation. Ignorance is bliss after all.

They never believed that JJ meant anything to Anti past that video. They had thought that he had gotten bored of their baby brother. They had thought he was safe. But Anti had been in their heads. He knew how fiercely they all loved, how it could cloud their judgements and become their weakness. He knew exactly how much they would do for this puppet. JJ was a blank slate, and oh how beautiful a masterpiece he would create with their own devotion as his chalk. 

It was only two weeks after JJ’s initial possession that Anti made his first move. The glitch appeared before the littlest ego. At first JJ had tried to ignore him, thinking that it was just his imagination, a mirage of sorts. But the ghost kept appearing, getting closer and closer until there was no room left to deny his reality.

Fantasy Masks AU: Chapter Six

*gasp* A POV change?! For the first time in this story?! How exciting! Yeah short description because I’ve had a long day as of queueing this, but basically we follow Marvin as he tries to track down the King. But instead, along the way, he meets someone new. And that’s all I have to say. Hope you enjoy :)

The noble family Portmota lived on the edge of the Southern Moors, their castle built on the last bit of solid land before the rivers came in and flooded the south of the kingdom. Officially, their claim covered all of the Moors, but everybody knew that the Moors ran on their own, much like the mountain villages to the west and north. But the meagerness of their claim didn’t stop the family from building themselves a solid, grand castle. It sat on top of a small hill, surrounded by a thick stone wall. The castle’s multiple towers reached the sky, and were numerous to require a large staff to keep the place running for the noble family and any visitors they might have.

With such a large body of servants, it was easy to slip in unnoticed. They always accepted help, and as long as you didn’t appear troublesome, they’d immediately snatch you up and put you to work the moment you asked for a position, no interview needed. 

This was something Marvin found out first hand when he decided to infiltrate the castle in preparation for the King’s visit.

The Alchemist and the Thief

Jameson and Marvin as they appear in the Pirate AU. I decided Marvin would normally go with a darker, more subtle mask, but definitely has special ones for special occasions. But this one is cloth and softer on his burns.

When he’s not dealing with clients, Jameson is the most reclusive of recluses, so whenever Marvin is back on shore he’s sure to drag his twin out of his lab for at least one night on the town.

Jameson is taller and thinner than Marvin, who has a more muscular frame from living on the seas and all those years of manual labor. Jameson is also not very touchy-feeling or good with emotions, but Marvin is - while being incredibly traumatized physically - equally as touched starved, so he’s like a leech on his brother when they are together. And Jameson, surprisingly, doesn’t really mind.
