If you're deciding whether or not to have kids. Just know... There WILL be glitter. 9 years I've kept this house glitter free. 9 years! In one fell swoop. oh, there it goes.

"kids are detransitioning"

no. actually, children now feel comfortable and accepted enough to experiment with their gender, pronouns, name, and presentation. and while some of them end up realizing they were cis the entire time, they now have a new understanding and appreciation for one of the most marginalized and abused groups of people in the world.

there, I fixed your shitty headline.

May march be good to you. But if it isn’t, may you find a way to be kind to yourself even when the circumstances around you aren’t the greatest instead of punishing yourself for things that are out of your control 🌱

it blows my mind that people think you can tell what genitals someone has, what hormones they take or what hormones their body primarily produces, or what their medical history has been like just by looking at them. my AGAB changed twice when i was a kid. i was confidently announced in my ultrasounds and after my birth to be male.

my parents fully prepared for a male child, with a "boy's" name and all. something changed after this and they had to change to taking care of a "female" child, which then changed to "wow idk dude" during puberty due to the combination of both "male" and "female" traits that were now developing.

you have no way of knowing what's going on with my body just by looking at me, and it goes for any other stranger. people can have extremely long and complicated histories with their physical sex and it's just not worth trying to go the extra mile to 'figure out' what someone "originally was". it's impossible.

a long time ago, my roommates had an argument over whether or not hamburgers are sandwiches. this actually got heated to the point of one of the guys having to get upset and walk away because he was convinced that hamburgers are not sandwich, but instead their own classification of food.

people will pick any hill to die on- we as a species cannot 100% all agree on the definition of anything. that's why we can't agree on the definition of gay, queer, lesbian, trans, bi, pan, aromantic, asexual, etc. because we as a species just can't do that. we all have a unique perspective on what concepts are and what they mean.

if we can't agree on whether or not a hamburger is a sandwich or not, i think it's best if we learn to agree to disagree on what the "true" meaning of gay, lesbian, trans, queer, etc. are and just let people live their version of that identity in peace. at the end of the day it literally doesn't matter if you don't know if a hamburger is a sandwich or just a hamburger- you're still going to eat it and gain nutrients from it.

a trans person having a different definition of trans than you, or a lesbian defining lesbianism differently than what they've been told, or any other type of queer person defining their identity in their own way isn't a threat to you- at the end of the day, it doesn't stop them from being trans, a lesbian, queer, or whatever. disagreeing on the definition won't stop it from happening; it's just petty. not every hill is meant for someone to die on. let go

The more despair I endure in life, the more I love Frodo. I'm just. I'm so glad that Tolkien wrote him like that. He was a hero and it broke him. He was given too much to carry. The circumstances were dire, everyone was doing the best they could, and Frodo tried so hard, for such a good cause, and he...broke. And the narrative has pity for him, the characters show him kindness. Even after victory, his hurts did not heal, and it isn't considered his fault. He must go to the undying lands, to seek out peace there. In universe, he is forgiven for being human - don't be pedantic - and his great torment is recognized. He fell. He could not have done it alone. He is still a hero.

And, I think that's important.
