Let's a go
Thea's gotten the most spotlight on this account of all my OCs. Xenoblade 3 OC, current commander of Colony Delta. Mainly focused on protecting the people of Delta, carrying on Cammuravi's legacy, and a bit of avenging him when the main party meets Thea and pals. Gameplay wise she'd be a defender, class inheritor would either be Lanz, Taion, or Sena. There's also other people in Colony Delta too, there's regular soldiers (Artair, Carina, Hilda, Ianto, Larkin, Osbert, and Ulrich), off-seers Gaila and Mae, the obligatory Nopon Nensen, the lieutenant Rhian, and Consul S (not the one from the main game). None of them are as developed as Thea though, only ideas for them is that Rhian probably likes Thea.
I also have a ton of Pokemon OCs. For the main games, there's Angelo (Ghost type Gym Leader who can hear ghosts) and Ruth (new-ish trainer looking for a mentor). For the Ranger spinoffs, there's Celia (just wants to help people but she kinda screws up often nothing bad happened at krokka tunnel). For Mystery Dungeon there's Eirlys and Kazuki, the hero and partner of my current playthrough of Super Mystery Dungeon.
There's also some DnD characters I'll never use because imagine having people to play with. There's Helen (former soldier who deserted because she realized her country was in the wrong) and Kaltrina (orphaned 8 year old who got powers from an old one who thought it'd be funny, she named her patron Pablo).
Curious about something 🤔 I wanna see which house my followers like the most in fire emblem 3 houses, ya know, just out of curiosity
I love the big guitar rift at the start of it, setting upo the song like you are setting up your plan to fight. The 2 vocalists taking turn and swapping how sings is fucking cool as shit. i sing this song to my self all the time…with the wrong lyrics i will admit also i love the part where it slows down and is kinda soft and the giruar, and the 2 voices sing differnt lyrics, and then it drops and it just chefs kiss
This song is so beautiful and so tragic at the same time.
I think that more fanfiction should be written with the aim to tackle the original meaning of hanahaki. Because when the concept of hanahaki disease was originally created, it was intended to be a metaphor for suppressing one’s feelings.
Your feelings are this beautiful garden of flora inside of your chest. When you express how you feel honestly, you allow for it to grow freely. But when you hide how you feel out of fear of rejection, and try to make it smaller and smaller, the flowers become cramped inside of you, until you choke on your own feelings. Every flower you cough up is something you’ve felt, but refused to say.
The whole “dying” thing is intended to be more symbolic especially. You’re killing off bits and pieces of yourself and how you feel, because you’re afraid to express yourself.
It’s not really supposed to be, “The one I love doesn’t love me back, and I’m dying from it.” Rather, it’s more along the lines of, “Repressing your emotions is bad for you, and it’s better and healthier to express them freely, even when it’s scary.”
Which is to say that, one, the cure for the disease should be telling the person that you are in love with how you feel. How the other person feels about the person afflicted should have nothing to do with it, as the trope is meant to be about feeling your emotions unapologetically.
And that, two, it’s not an inherently romantic trope. Obviously, it has romantic applications, but it can be written for any situation where a character is hiding how they truly feel. This can include a refusal to address a specific trauma, a desire to indulge in something that they’re ashamed of, and even really practical things, like wanting to ask one’s boss for a higher position.
Although (as an aromantic person myself) I don’t agree with this conclusion about the trope, this application would also avoid people calling it arophobic. When the thing killing the character is a refusal to be honest with themselves, rather than an unrequited love, it’s on nobody’s hands but their own to save their life.
There are a ton of ways that this interpretation of the hanahaki disease could be applied in new and interesting ways in fanfiction, and I’d love to read what things people could come up with!
Working on more Colony Delta stuff since it can't just be Thea. Everyone has names, ages, genders, and roles at least. Decided Delta would focus on Attackers so there's more of them than Healers or Defenders.
People who just kinda exist right now
Artair, 5th term male Ardanian. Healer, weapon undecided.
Carina, 9th term female Leftherian. Attacker, uses a greatsword.
Hilda, 8th term female dark Blade. Attacker, weapon undecided.
Ianto, 10th term male Gormotti. Attacker, weapon undecided.
Larkin, 6th term male Indoline. Defender, weapon undecided.
Mae, 4th term female Urayan. Attacker, weapon undecided. One of Delta's off-seers along with Gaila.
Nensen, male Nopon. Doesn't fight but still part of Delta.
Osbert, 9th term male Urayan. Defender, uses a flail.
People who have something going on
Gaila, 10th term female Indoline. Healer, weapon undecided. One of Delta's off-seers along with Mae. Since she's on her last term, she wants to teach Mae as much as she can before her Homecoming. Thinking that a sidequest could end with Gaila's Homecoming but I'm not sure.
Rhian, 6th term female Gormotti. Healer, weapon undecided. Thea's lieutenant and closest friend. Has a big crush on Thea but never does anything because soldiers don't really know how love works.
Ulrich, 8th term male wind Blade. Attacker, weapon undecided. Gets into arguments with Thea often since while they both want to continue Cammuravi's legacy, they can't agree on how that should be done.
Also thinking about who would inherit Thea's class. Instantly ruled out Noah and Mio since they inherit more classes than everyone else (Noah gets 5, Mio gets 4, and everyone else gets 3). Thinking of ruling out Eunie too since she already inherits an Agnian Defender class. That leaves Lanz, Sena, and Taion. None of them inherit any Defender classes at all, but Lanz does start out as one. Taion is the one who inherits Cammuravi's class so there's something there. Sena and Cammuravi both seem to be fire blades so maybe she reminds Thea of Cammuravi or something? Class inheritor always seems to be the person who interacts with the hero the most even so I guess it really comes down to who would have an interesting dynamic with Thea.
I like stupid Nintendo games and other JRPGs. Call me Brim.
