The internet archive is under attack

https://twitter.com/internetarchive/status/1545437753873244161?s=21&t=U7BfkxZAswPfBBOWQQ_qeA

1/3 As most of you know, we are currently facing a lawsuit brought by 4 corporate publishers who want to stop the Internet Archive from lending books. #EmpoweringLibraries

— Internet Archive (@internetarchive) July 8, 2022

https://twitter.com/camwoodstock/status/1546196167788298240?s=21&t=U7BfkxZAswPfBBOWQQ_qeA

You can easily donate to the Internet Archive at https://t.co/zvVoZ6Rfun. Please do that if you have the money, and if you don't, at least spread the words.

Don't let greedy publishers and hack writers like Chuck Wendig erase over a quarter of a decade of internet resources.

The internet archive is so important it’s sooo important to archive digital data to preserve it if you can throw a couple of dollars their way to support them then please do so. Don’t let greedy people and individuals take away the internet archive!

people are playing games of telephone with information about palestine and sometimes it's harmless and sometimes it's not.

no. all of the hospitals in gaza have NOT been destroyed. all of them have been ATTACKED, none of htem are fully functioning anymore, but, NO, they are not all fully destroyed.

tweets by palestinians mourning the safety of the last FULLY FUNCTIONING hospital have been misconstrued as "no hospitals are left" and that misunderstanding leads to a sense of hopelessness that can translate into less medical aid going through to the hospitals that remain--damaged, attacked, more vulnerable than ever before but still standing.

israel has destroyed a large amount of the FUNCTIONALITY of all 36 hospitals but doctors are still doing their best within many of them. and need aid, calls for support, power.

People Are Playing Games Of Telephone With Information About Palestine And Sometimes It's Harmless And

i am once again on my KNEES begging y'all to not just spread one sentence tweets about the state of gaza from people who are... not in gaza. i am asking you to do more work to verify the information you spread.

I must say that I've never though it will ever come to this...

But looking at the current events...

Me watching "some movies" with the one and only @reallyangryhawk

Well, I can't determine if it's the blessing... or the curse...

But now I present to you...

The Pirate AU concepts! (In the nutshell cause the whole thing do be loooooong)

I Must Say That I've Never Though It Will Ever Come To This...

So well... here is Lui. He ends up being a pirate after some really unfortunate incidents regarding his job... He basically helped someone who was framed in murder (the person was a pirate hence the later connections). So Lui being threatened to loose his life (by the government may I add), joines the crew of the man he saved in the court. He sailes for a while... Then, being educated and trained with logical thinking along side with rhetoric (it's really cool cause pirates tend to be less educated beings), he gets chosen for the captain of the ship he was on, after the former captain was killed by the enemy fleet.

Some time later on the way to the next quest Lui and his crew encounters a treasure island and along side with it the treasure itself. But like with the most pirate treasures there is also a curse... And the victim of it is no other than Lui himself...

He's being trapped in the cave where the treasure was, and the only way out is thorough the underground water tunnel system. Lui jumpes in and the water gives him the effect of being able to breathe underneath it's surface... and later problems with normal breathing as gills starts to grow on his neck...

I Must Say That I've Never Though It Will Ever Come To This...

While in contact with water he's forced to transform into the shark creature, then having problems at the land. Also the group of sharks is following him but they are also friendly for him.

Lui spends about half a year at the island, slowly loosing his sanity, thinking his crew left him alone in the middle of nowhere. But also learning how to control the curse and it's powers Lui is able to get back to the civilisation... and then there it's chaos...

Also the effects of the curse basically gave Lui his nickname.

But I'll write about it next time when I'll also cover the story of Nico.

As for now, thanks for reading this monstracity, and I wish u all a very nice future time and activities. No matter how late it is at your place or what you will be doing next :3

14th of February, 1920

(There's a slight mention of an unhealthy relationship)

Louisette stepped out of her car. It's been a long drive from her hometown to Paris, the city her friend lived in. She stood in front of a two-story house and pressed the doorbell. A black-haired woman, wearing a simple dress, opened the door.

"Bonjour, Cosette," greeted Louisette.

"Oh,my! Mon amie, why didn't you tell me you're going to visit me? I would've dressed more neatly!" Cosette pulled Louisette into a hug. She hugged her for a while.

Louisette smiled. "You look much more happier than before, friend. Didn't hear anything about him?"

"No, except from that article you wrote last week!" Cosette said. "I don't know why did you publish it, Louisette. Being separated from him is already enough for me."

"He didn't work his way to fame, Cosette. He just rode on yours. And that man– that man wasn't grateful enough to treat you nicely. He hurted you! People should know about how bad that Beaumont was!"

Cosette sighed. "I didn't mean it that way. What I mean is, why are you doing so many things for me, Louisette? You wrote that novel dedicated to me, and you were there for me when I was with him, and now you let people know about how he mistreated me.. How can I thank you?"

"No need to thank me. It's just what friends do, you know, helping each other."

"I guess you're right. Wait, I didn't notice you were still outside! Come in, come in! Also, you haven't seen my daughter, Aurelie, haven't you?"

Louisette lets Cosette hold her hand, leading her to the kitchen. Cosette introduced her to Aurelie and Cosette's maid, Marie. She also met Cosette's cat, Nocturne. It felt relieving for her to see Cosette feeling better.

Maybe staying here for a few days isn't a bad idea, Louisette thought.

And she was right.

A Museum Date, Part 1

(Author's note: there's a slight mention of period typical homophobia on the 8th paragraph)

Today, me and Tori are going on a museum date. We both wore our favourite outfits. We arrived at 11 am.

"Hey, what if we check that new section over there, Al?" Tori pointed to an exhibit with a sign that says "Violet Wreaths and Green Carnations".

"Sounds good." She held my hand and led me. Turns out, the new exhibit is about same-sex relationships in history.

There were lots of photographs, paintings, written records, you know, things you'll see at most museum exhibits.

"Allie, there's the original draft of that play you were talking about that day !"

"Really? Let's see it, then!"

We looked at the said script, carefully displayed inside a glass box. There's a sign beneath it.

«This is the original script of the play "The Knight And The Elven Bard" by Claus Chasterell. The Rosenhart Theatre refused to perform this version of the script because of its "depiction of unacceptable behavior"(this play depicted romance between two men), saying that it would ruin the public's impression of both Chasterell and the theatre itself. Chasterell then revised it, changing the terms of endearment Alois (the knight) and Albion (the bard) used to refer each other with to platonic terms such as friend, dear companion, etc. He also changed the kiss scene in the epilogue to a warm embrace. But even with the changes, the playwright's true intentions are still recognizable.»

Then, right beside the script was a letter. The sign beneath it said:

«This letter was found by Claudia Izabel Carper on her sixth great-granduncle's house, on the main bedchamber, to be exact. The identity of the sender is unknown, as he (the sender stated he was a man, although not explicitly) used an alias, Victor. But, the handwriting seemed quite similar to the handwriting of the famous poet Claus Chasterell. The recipient is only addressed as "My Beloved", but because of the location this letter was found on, it's safe to say that the recipient was Ms.Carper's sixth great-granduncle.»

"Wait, so your sixth great-grandfather...," Tori whispered. "He liked men too?" We both said in union.

After a long silence, I shrugged. "Well, maybe he does, but, I think it's better to do more research after this date is over, don't you think so, babe?"

Tori nods. "Yeah, I guess so, sweetie."

(A/N: I'll try to finish the second part as soon as possible)

The Next Day (Click here for prologue)

"So, what do you think, Tori?" I asked after I finished talking about my recent realization. "Let me think.. Well, there's this composer, whose name was a variant of Louis .. and your sixth great-grandfather lived in the early 19th century, like him, so maybe he likes his music and idolized him or something? Idk, just.. my thoughts as a musician," Tori said.

"Well, that's actually a pretty neat theory. Nice, Tori." She smiled. I suddenly remembered about my conversation with my sibling last night. "Tori, babe, you remember Claude, right?"

"Your older sibling? Yeah, I remember them. Why?"

I took a deep breath. "Well, they just directed an adaptation of our sixth great-grandfather's play, and the protagonist's name is Alois.."

"Interesting. I'll search that play up, I promise." Tori and I did the pinky promise. "Anyways, my parents probably wants me to go home already, so, sorry, and bye, darling!" She gave me one last hug, and I waved at her as she left my room.
