After having a really horrible semester last year, I wanted to write a post on dealing with bad days/weeks/months or even years.
If you are feeling like you are in a really bad phase, just take a deep breath and DONT pity yourself. Self pity kills. Instead think that this is just a bad phase and like all phases, this one will end and a new better one will begin.
1.Talk to your friends, or your parents or someone who understands and knows you.
2.Watch romcoms or comedy movies that will lift up your spirits.(One of my favourites is Begin Again).
3.Write posts about how you are feeling and what difficulties you are facing so that people who have gone through similar things can help you and give you advice.
4.Most importantly, dont give up on your studies and your goals. Go back to your teacher and ask for help. Ask friends. Watch videos. Look at previous question papers. Anything to help you get through that rough patch in a subject.
5.If you have a lot of backlog and lagging work, just drink a cup of coffee and get to work. Complete a major chunk of your backlog so that you feel good about yourself and get your spirits up.
6.I have realised that once I start disliking a subject, I procrastinate. I leave the work to the last possible moment and then (obviously) its not upto its mark. A vicious cycle.
7.Remember that stressing yourself about anything will not help. Neither will worry. Instead put that emotion in doing something productive. If there is nothing more that you can do about it then only rest easy.
After all, its a bad day, not a bad life. :)
August 22, 2018. Wednesday.
Just to let you all know just how tired I am, I fell asleep watching a video over evolution around 11:30 last night with my laptop on my lap and my glasses on, surrounded by my pencils and books. I did not wake up to get those things off and to climb into bed until 3 in the morning. I wanted to get up at 5:30 so I could go on a run, but I didn’t get up until 7. I’m now getting to school early so I can figure out financial aid and try to do my readings before class starts.
Xoxo. Omi
So for the last week, I did nothing. In the beginning of the week, I had a cold and fever and I couldn't focus, so I rested. Later, as I got better, I started losing motivation because I just wanted to continue resting. I began to feel like I could catch up if I compromised on my study process. Only reading could do, I don't need to take notes, I will revise everything again. And I tried doing that, but it dosent work. So what did I do to get my motivation back? I talked to my sweet friends, who helped get back on track. I came to Tumblr to find so many others who were finding it hard like me. This is such a wonderful encouraging community, and I feel so happy to be a part of it. ♥️
There comes a time in your life when you have to make a decision. Choose one path to walk on, as they say. Well let me tell you, these are the hardest moments. Not only do you have to think about what you want but what others want you to want. People will tell you loads of things. What is cool & uncool. What is beautiful and ugly. What is right and wrong. But you have to block out all that noise. You have to try & find that quiet place, where you can take your decisions yourself. Where you can think about who means well. Take a deep breath & find that quiet place. Think carefully. Because this decision, is going to change your universe.
Nothing will ruin your 20’s more than thinking you should have your life together already.

1) I’m actually very behind with revision. 2) My first exam is in 3 days. 3) I really need to get off Tumblr.
