The same Astarion artwork continues to be stolen time and time again by unscrupulous shops (I've filed over 20 complaints, just on Etsy alone). One particular independent shop refuses to remove the items using my artwork, ignores my messages, and deletes all my comments warning buyers.

Here's the specific artwork, my original fanart, and the low-quality and insolent modification to turn it into a shoddy sweatshirt and t-shirt design. Which is promoted on TikTok !

This has to stop.

Sharing your work on the internet, or even just sharing your passion, has become a nightmare for artists and creators. We already have enough to deal with in the face of AI threats and platforms like Aliexpress; now we have to manage a surge in theft as well.

This shop is also appropriating other artworks from the BG3 fandom.

I'm seeking your help in identifying the authors of these artworks so that I can notify them.

I'm also currently in contact with a specialized attorney because I've had enough.

The cup is full, and I want to be able to showcase my drawings without enriching thieves. It's particularly painful during this period of economic crisis, where, like many others, I'm struggling to make ends meet, to feed my two young kids.

I've been reflecting on the situation for some time now... Corporate bullshit is nothing new, but I still didn't expect this turn of event (considering the success of HI-FI Rush, which wasn't colossal, BUT STILL). With all the rumors, I was hyped for the possibility of TEW3 or something related, and now it looks like the series is a hostage IP. It could be brought back by some other studio one day, but... I dunno. This whole situation is so wrong. I can only wish the dev teams all the best. 💔

At the begin of the article miles talks about a kid making a hard choice and think it interesting how it was mentioned. Maybe he had to make a similar decision when he was a kid. Thought also could just be his hook to get you to read. Idk

a theory involving aslab.

prefacing this theory with this meme. i’m not eloquent, take it with a grain of salt.

so as many of you know, i found an interesting bit of lore that many people may not be aware of: an article by miles upshur, which i believe to have been promotional material for the first game, mentions the murkoff water purification company, aslab. you can read that document yourselves below:

now the aslab logo appears again in whistleblower during the introduction of the hospital chapter, when we encounter the walrider. for what reason? your guess is as good as mine, but i assume that it was placed as an easter egg. though i can’t determine the plot significance of the reappearance, i can only assume it means aslab is relevant, and perhaps even somehow connected to the morphogenic engine experiments… dennis is also notable for his mentions of a life threatening flood and concern with water, which could potentially be a reference towards murkoff’s aslab water plants? blake mentions the lake is poisoned in the second game. it’s a stretch, but…

the only in-game reference to aslab. what could it mean?

now comes the bigger and more concrete connection to the story. remember paul marion from the murkoff account? he approaches an fbi office in detroit, michigan to give his testimony about murkoff’s crimes. here he is severely injured and seems to have barely made it to their onsite hospital.

probably didn’t travel too far with a wound like that.

the fbi on-site hospital is located in detroit, mi.

but why was paul in detroit, and how could he have sustained that wound? if you recall from the article written by miles… the three new aslab purification plants, built by murkoff, are also located here. could this perhaps be an important connection to murkoff, a possible setting in the future games?

there is one other avenue of connection i’ve considered, though it’s a shot in the dark.

I think my favourite part about the intro to episode 3 of Tales is that Bunkers and Badasses scene.

The tales crew got Athena on their side, who is this terrifying vault hunter/assassin that appears really strict and no nonsense, and they had NO idea how to react around her... So they just asked her if she wanted to play the borderlands equivalent of D&D and she said yes.

And not only that she apparently got so invested in it that she flipped the board when she rolled a 1.

This woman has systematically hunted down members of Atlas and murdered them, she has defeated a vault monster, is one of the deadliest people on Pandora AND she made Fiona and Sasha fear for their lives in Hollowpoint and these four are still like "should we ask her if she wants to play?". I love them.

I want a DLC of that particular game of Bunkers & Badasses SO badly with a full intro cinematic of them working up the courage to ask Athena to play. Or just even a comic book, I'd take any info on it at this point.
