day after day, i'm continually amazed by the loyalty of real madrid fans, even when their club is clearly in the wrong.
it begins with justifying real madrid's actions during franco's regime, dismissing the severity of the situation when lives were lost over what some continue to call "just a game." the trophies amassed during that era were quite literally handed to them, while the catalan people endured suffering, to the extent that their names weren't even spelled correctly on their tombstones (e.g. josep sunyol).
fast forward to the present, real madrid dominates discussions surrounding controversial refereeing decisions. they've obviously robbed countless teams of victories through blatant cheating, as seen in instances like lamine yamal's disallowed goal today, the ucl final against atletico madrid, matches against bayern in the ucl, and multiple la liga games, whether it be against big or small teams.
wrongful penalties awarded, players like casemiro escaping red cards despite the severity of their actions, and referees seemingly turning a blind eye to clear handballs, notably sergio ramos', it canβt all be a crazy coincidence.
itβs crazy to me how people continue to defend this club.
