So I just finished working on this a few days ago! Since the comic is going to be set mostly on Homeworld and Homeworld locations, I needed to use Gem language for certain locations since English isn’t widely used on Homeworld, mostly just on Earth. But I didn’t want to put up random letters up on buildings and structure. And since Lady Sugar isn’t going to reveal that secret to us, I decided to do some research.

Thankfully, tumblr user @simplegeoffs managed to translate a good portion of the Lower Case alphabet so that was half of the work done for me. Not a lot of info on the upper case but through doing my own research and just straight up guessing (lol), I came up with what I hope to be a cohesive Homeworld Gem Glyph chart. I the true translations come out in the future then I’ll just write it off as “different universe, constants and variables, etc etc.”

As for an update on things: I’ve finished the outline for the first arc of the comic and I’m going to be working on sketching it out. I’ll give you guys an ETA as I progress.

Her name is Nikala and she’s a diplomatic whirlwind. She totally inherited Glimmer’s tendency/desire to bring people together and she’s grown up very politically savvy - she became one of the Alliance’s trade advisors by the time she was 14 and anyone who didn’t take her seriously at first soon learned to. She tends to be the mom friend in every group, if by that we mean momma-bear friend (do NOT mess with anyone she loves). Still, she’s known far and wide as genuinely friendly!!
