I'm currently looking for reviewers for my new transgender novella I just released called The Drunk, The Gambler, and The Lover. It's about how people see you for what you aren't and the life of isolation, loneliness, and addiction that comes with it, a faceless existence. It's about that one day you realize you have been lying to yourself for 20 years and the great unraveling that follows, a conversation about writing, art, and self-acceptance.
(It's in stores, but just DM me or ask me in the comments, and I will give you a free copy. Verified Amazon reviews are the best way to support indie authors.)
All the art I have of jax (I think)
Hell yeah brother
Tiny jax au for those who have been starving for it, I'm just gaslighting myself at this point for Jax and Kinger to have nice interactions in the next episodes
people hate self diagnosis because it provides Mad people with autonomy.
self diagnosis goes against the idea that psychiatriac professionals have unique knowledge - knowledge only obtainable by someone who has studies for years, specifically from a removed & outside perspective to any individual's Madness: even if that student, themselves, is Mad.
self diagnosis goes against the idea that Mad people are inherently incapable of telling their own story - that any ways in which they do communicate, express themselves, etc. is tainted by their Madness and thus unreliable.
self diagnosis says "i know my own bodymind better than anyone; i live here. this is my life. i get to define my experiences." self diagnosis holds self compassion. self diagnosis holds self empowerment.
diagnosis is typically something "given to" Mad people. in psychiatry's eyes, diagnosis is something to describe us that we must have, yet can never attain for ourselves.
so even though self diagnosis takes from the boxes that psychiatry has prescribed, it is still a rebellion. it may not be The Solution to freeing Mad people from psychiatry - but it still means something. to me, at least.
people need to hold characters that aren't shoving their actions to your face accountable.
i think gangle being a character a lot of people found themselves in is great. but like, that makes people think so flatly of jax specifically because their characters are directly tied to eachother, gangle fans like to frame jax as this heartless monster who manipulates people for fun and consider her a victim and proceeds to ignore her flaws entirely, and im not saying this because i like jax more than gangle. this was a problem in ace attorney with miles edgeworth fans too, and my favorite character is miles.
while yeah yes absolutely jax is not the kindest guy out there and definitely should be held responsible for what he does but the problem is that they dont do the same thing with other characters. if you dont hold gangle responsible for the employee reevaluation as a way for her to "get back at" jax for what he does then you shouldnt hold any other character for what they do either, like the fact that ragatha called gangle annoying. that was because she'd been repressing her "rude" feelings for so long they resurfaced when she was on the stupid sauce, you can't blame ragatha for that either. gangle is so deeply flawed i hate to see her characterized as an angel because people dont seem to realize every single character is also trapped, not only their favorites. every single character hates being there and i hate to see people think only their favorite has depth.
Artblocks trying to chomp away at me so im tryna fight it off by trying different things w my art, and my subject was @eco-systeme 's digital races' Jax :D
Hey I know this page is for silly goofs and gafs. But if you are in the US right now and you’re scared of what’s going on, like so many people, like me.
I want you to know you’re loved, and it’s ok to be scared to be terrified, it’s ok to feel that right now, it’s ok to grieve.
But once you’re ready I want you to stand up tall ok. I want you to stand up tall and be so loudly proud of who you are. Do not let them silence us, do not let them win!
We will not be silenced, we will not go away, and we will not let them win.
What an animal
